Well, that's the verdict.

Thoughts? Reactions?

Personally - I've lost all faith and confidence in the judicial system.

Why did you have faith and confidence in the judicial system?

Thats the verdict? Wow. Sad but wow.

Interesting. It looked like the defense was going all-out for a hung jury/mistrial, but somehow they squeaked out a win.

Good for her. I agree with the jury, there wasn't (IMO) enough evidence to support a guilty verdict.

wow, so apparently its totally cool to not call anyone about your kid being missing for 30 days, duct taping its mouth and leaving its corpse in a swamp...I mean, who DOESNT do that?

Where did they find that jury, Disney Land?

Oh wait, its Orlando.

Fun Fact: If Casey Anthony was ugly/fat or a man, she would have been convicted.

That's what you get when you have a jury full of white knights and feminists

I say feminists because they have led to a culture where it's ok for women to do stuff and get away with it

There wasn't enough evidence to support a guilty verdict.

I could see guilty of manslaughter. Murder 1 should have been out from the start. But still, there must have been doubt.

Quite.
A jury of twelve red necked misogynists would have been so much more just.

The media sort of ignored it for about a year or two and then picked it up again right at the tail end of this whole thing.
Personally, I find it stunning and quite honestly unsurprising. It's just like O.J. Simpson all over again. We have an unrepentant killer with all the evidence pointing towards them and they're allowed to walk free, at least from that guilt.
Never was there any evidence to point that anyone else killed the kid, so now the whole world can rest knowing that that child will never have any justice or revenge. She died completely uselessly, because of someone else's spite and no one was there to say no.

Funny, I was under the impression most Western legal systems went off of 'innocent until proven guilty'.

She's not guilty, ergo she didn't do it.

That all depends on whether the papers want to sell more copy based on your story or not

I'm very pleased with the verdict.

I am ashamed in all my fellow Americans who have fell victim to the trap that is the 24-hour news cycle. You can demonize, victimize and name call all day as long as it generates ratings. Slant the stories, withhold information as long as you are making money doing it. The news is not something that should be toyed with and made into entertainment, there is only bias now. You can no longer turn on a television, flip open a newspaper or open your web browser to a 'news' site and not be immediately bombarded with opinion that supports a narrative that someone is directly benefiting from. The mere fact that you all, who have not been presented with the full evidence itself, seem to so vehemently want the blood of this woman for what you insist is her murder of her daughter suggests to me the ignorance present to the current state of affairs. Do any of you know how many homicide cases like this occurred in the United States while this one was drug out for public viewing? It's a number greater than one and less than infinity, the fact that you've latched on to this one only indicates that Nancy Grace did a really good job of making Casey Anthony look like a very guilty person initially.

Every time a court case is brought out like this I hope the verdict sways the opposite of public opinion on the case. I hope murderers go free and righteous men are locked away in prison- as long as the American public is stuck in this rut of gorging themselves on meaningless new stories.

It's not like this verdict will matter to you lot though. Someone will probably make a few attempts at her life in the near future, maybe someone will even be successful. Casey Anthony won't be able to live a normal life whether she killed her kid or not. She has been made out the villain too long in the public eye, she will only see scorn the rest of her life- but only because of opinions.

Some might say thats not rational. I'm not saying that though. That would be wrong.

When you take it out of the context like that. I mean only involving these cases were people are randomly dragged through the mud on television.

On the positive we'll have one more day and then I won't have to hear about this nonsense any more. I feel for the little girl, but this is a locale if it bleeds it leads story, at best. No reason my precious life should be wasted any more on it.

Good point, thus is the life of the 24-hour news cycle. But it'll be something new tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day... and... well, you get the picture.
