So I am painting an Eldar army for a friend, and have a question. There are two antennae that stick up from the shoulder blades of most of the figs. Some of them have one normal antenna and one longer one with a bunch of shiny gems on it. Anyone know what the purpose of these things are? Does the longer one signify anything? A lot of them are snapped off of his figs. Should I model replacements, or can I just leave them missing?

I think they mark out Warlocks or more veteran squad members.
they could be comm antennae, but they could also just be classic eldar impractical decoration

There is space (and bits) for them to be on every model. I just can't figure out what they're for.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised. |

They don't represent anything in the game, they are just part of the armour. Dire avengers come with a sort of camera/targeter in place over one shoulder instead - I trimmed those off, I prefer the more compact look.

The One's on the DA are range finders i'm pretty sure, since the scope is linked to their helmets. As for guardians i imagine it's some sort of radio system with the smaller ones being the individual squad radio and the bigger one being the Hq to squad radio. Maybe? not so sure on this one.
