Hello all,

My friend who plays crons was told by the staff at GW that you can fire the particle whip and the flux projectors in the same phase. Personally i feel this is wrong as:
1) projectors are S5 so not a defensive weapon
2) Particle Whip is an ordanance blast so no other guns can be fired

Also when a warrior squad goes down (as in no more "alive" models) within range of another squad does the squad awaiting WBB count as a KP?
I think it goes along the lines of Squad A goes down, So succsessful WBB go into squad B thus squad A is no more and is a KP?

What is the correct ruling on these?

Thanks

Show him the last Necron FAQ;

Q. Can the Monolith fire its particle whip and
gauss flux projectors in the same turn?
A. No, the Monolith cannot fire the particle whip
(as it is an ordnance weapon) and gauss flux
projectors in the same turn. The particle whip
uses the large blast marker and its range and line
of sight are measured from any of the Monolith’s
weapons.

Yes, when the entire unit has been destroyed you get a kill point.
If any Necrons from that unit can and do make successful WBB rolls they are placed within coherency of the nearest unit.
Their original unit has been destroyed.

I did and they both said it ws an out dated FAQ even the GW store owner/manager said it was out dated
I had a feeling it was wrong and even if it were outdated, you can't fire any other guns if you fire an ordnance weapon
Gonna have to get my negotiation face on

Ok cool i thought so.
Thanks

You'll frequently find that GW store employees have no idea about the actual rules for the product lines they sell. Negotiation might help, especially if you have another strange ruling from the same guys to ignore. Two of our locals, for example, had a Turboboost argument and finally went to GW for help. Lo and behold, the store even called Nottingham and still got it wrong. According to them TB must be in a straight line and jetbikes can't fly over terrain if they 'boost. Let's not bring the actual rulebook into it, guys...

You may have to be unfriendly and do the old "if you use it, show it" instead - if you want to do something, show me where it's permitted.

Show them this;

Then ask them (politely) to show you any date on it at all.
Either the date it was released or the date it expires.

Then tell them since this is the FAQ on GW website, this is the latest official Necron FAQ and as such is in full effect.

i know they're terrible for it, i had to tell them about open topped vehicles being a S3 explosion, they played every single one as S4 next time he does it i'll explain it fully.

I don't recall the rules for vehicles shooting changing between now and 2009. What could possibly make that FAQ answer invalid other than wishful thinking?

You dont even NEED the FAQ answer - the BRB rules explicitly state you cannot fire other weapons if you also fire ordnance.

So show them the BRB rule then ask tehm to show the Monolith rule that lets you fire the projectors as well.
