I converted and painted up a unit of Sternguard for my Crimson Fists. I painted up the web-exclusive Space Marine sergeant some time ago, and I never had a squad for him to lead until now! Unfortunately I do not have him with me at the moment, but here's the other 9 Marines:

Auspex detail, because I love painting lenses:

And a WIP of them for good measure:

Next up, I've got a rifleman Dreadnought, some scout Marines, and too many Marines and Guardsmen to count!

They look good - you should be proud. I like the expression on the Sgt. The highlighting is good and the shoulderpads are a nice touch!

Thanks! The face is from a skin technique I started using on my Catachans where I'm actually using a lot of layering instead of just color + wash and highlight. I lifted it pretty much wholesale from a great painter on another forum

In the auspex detail pic you can see an ammo pouch on the Marine on the right. How did you paint that?

These look good, by the way. Did you use the Forgeworld shoulder pads, or make them yourself?

The shoulderpads are actually GW shoulderpads! Same with the backpacks. They're a metal bitz pack:

As for the ammo pouch: I painted it scorched brown, then washed it Badab Black. I painted the buttons in Shining Gold, then washed the whole thing with Devlan Mud. I then did edge highlights with straight Scorched Brown. Hope that helps!

Yeah I like these. I've been toying with the idea of repainting some of my old marines as Crimson Fists. I am particularly impressed with the green on the weapon lenses and the auspex, they're really well done. I think you've got the colours spot on.

In the frozen land of Nador they were forced to eat Robin’s minstrels. And there was much rejoicing.

Thanks I usually do red or blue for my lenses and scopes and such but I didn't want to overload the models with red when there's already so much of it.

Who would have thought SRM and Brother SRM were the same person!?

So you may have noticed I didn't give them a sergeant - I've been holding onto the web-only Space Marine model from a couple years ago for a long time, and he was actually the first model I painted in Crimson Fist colors about 3 years ago. Anyway, I did a bit of touching up, and here he is, ready to lead the squad:

I like the detail you did on the faces. They look really nice. Good job.
