Well that got me thinking: I'm making a knight-themed army and I'm gonna use speeders. If I were using bikes I would use horses as bike equivalents... but how about converted Pegasus Knights for landspeeders? Is it too absurd, and does the two models differ a lot in terms of LOS and such?

It would just look too silly having 2 marines on the back of a horse that flies!

However, what about a flying chariot drawn by pegasi? That should give you a good sized model, and enough room to mount two marines

It doesn't need to have two marines on one horse. It just needs one. The MM is mounted somewhere on the horse and the HF is handled by the marine riding it.

And IF I put two marines in one, my army is templar-themed and look at the original templar icon:



But then again I plan on just one marine riding each pegasus.

Personally, I think it would be a bit too silly.

That is one of the silliest ideas I've ever heard, but if your whole army was themed that way I guess it would be okay.

Robot horses? With jetpacks? I'm more concerned about my opponent saying my models are illegal than the silliness, really.

I mean, SMs on horses to represent bikes are pretty bad ass. Or are flying horses too much of a step to the next level?

Note: ONLY ONE MARINE WILL BE RIDING.

Thanks to the Pegasus's spread wings, I don't think there's too much of a LoS issue, especially if you add banners, cloaks etc to visually bulk up the model closer to landspeeder dimensions.

To me the problem is weapons - the marine rider will need to do quite a Chuck Norris impression to carry a heavy weapon in each hand

The only obvious solution I can think of would be a cyber-Pegasus, i.e. partly or completely robotic creature designed to look like a flying horse. That way you can mount one of the weapons on (or even instead of) the horse's head. But I don't know whether that quite suits your fluff.

And hey, Chuck Norris impressions aren't all that bad.

I would be ok with it in friendly games. As far as line of sights go I would bulk out the Pegasus knight so that it takes up the same amount of space as the land speeder.

what looks easier too kill a LAndspeeder moving at what ever speed and has armer plating or a pegasus which is based on a horse with wings. PS horses can be killed with one round from your standard shotgun
