Just an idea i had since i'm going to play eldar again but use an iyanden-ish themed army ( and attempt to have all the models painted in that craftworld's color) So i was wondering what you guys think of the hawk and wraith combo? To me they seem to fulfill what the other doesn't.

also, i can i get some feedback for the tournament scene and it might do against other armies in that point level

I haven't made wraithguard work before but, one of the only tactics I know of that people say do work are 5 wraithguard with a warlock in a wave serpent. IMO 10 man wraithguard units are useless, they don't move fast enough to get in range for their 12" guns to do anything. For your HQ slot I would consider just 2 doom/guide seers. The autarch with the swooping hawks won't do much and you can save points by dropping eldrad to put in the 2 seers. Since you don't have much anti tank, I would put bright lances on either your wraithlords or your wave serpents( if you decide to add them). I've used pathfinders and they just don't do the job and are heavily overpriced so i would recomend dropping them and adding in 2 x 10 dire avenger squads exarch with twin direpults and bladestorm in preferably wave serpents.

It's just i'm trying to run an effective list that isn't the same DA in wave serpent deal. I've played and seen eldar list with warwalkers, DA and fire dragons in WS and i just don't find it fun. and i understand what your getting at with the Wraithguard. I like the ten man group for being a sponge but i see what you mean with the hq's. The main reason why i added the autarch is to get the +1 to reserves for the swooping hawkskyleap.

Now the other thing i want to point out on my list as to why none of the wraiths are taking BL is because the swooping hawks Haywire grenades. And i really do feel that our BL our way overpriced for what they do. ( granted that it's a codex that Came outin '06 i believe).

As to a quick question about the Pathfinders, For objective games, or at least the most that i have played. The objective almost always always is in terrain. which is why i thought pathfinders would be more cost effective and useful as compared to DA's sitting in a WS for claiming (even though i do understand the fact of really good mobility here) I just felt that a 2+ cover save is just to good to pass up PLUS having a full squad that can shoot at other targets and actually has potential to damage light vehicles and glance meduim armor vehicles.

So idk about that part, 2+ cover save or squad in a vehicle.

thanks a lot for your advice tho since the duel seer thing actually has me thinking.

I think this is a really cool idea. I might check and see if you really need all the abilities on the hawk exarchs to make room for bumping up the numbers of each squad or maybe gearing up a little for combat. All Eldar lists have a problem of over pricing, so you don't seem to have a lot for a 2k list but if you play it well I think it could be fun and have a decent chance of winning. Try it out and let us know!

I'd replace the Hawks by Harlies since they are a great counter-strike unit.

I know bahharoth sucks but did you know he drops a pack too? he also makes any squad of hawks fearless btw.. I have entertained the idea of running yo yo hawks before , but To me it seems your list actually could work if your opponent bunchs up his vechicles or his horde army. Multi charging vechicles or pooping on infantry heads will slow him down for your wraiths to get there. Its a different playstyle and will cause people who play tournys to scratch their heads a lil , and that should give you a slight advantage.. Thumbs up for being orignal

I didn't quite consider bahharoth, i'll look into him. bu yea, it was one of my ideas is to plow through those army's that bunch up (and from what i've seen, it's alot. ) And thanks for the comment . I just feel it try something that could work (then again nothing is certain in a game of dice) that isn't with so many vehicles.
