Microsoft are wise enough not to mess too much with the current system. Considering 343 is composed of a good deal of the Halo franchise development team, it should be in good hands. All I can ask is that they continue the community interaction that Bungie has become so well known for.

By that logic many franchises need to die. It doesn't matter how many iterations there are, if it still has support and is selling well, there's no need to put it down. Originality doesn't matter for s**t either, CoD is evidence of that.

I would actually agree with him; what are 343 going to do with it? I have my money on it becoming CoD in space.

That wasn't a troll, that was me saying that I would like to see them stop making Halo games. If I was trolling I would have said something more graphic and disgusting.

chaos i agree, 343 studios cannot accomplish what bungie did. They are basically reusing the halo universe till it dies.

You realize that it's much the same team that made the other three Halo's that's making the next installment? In reality, the franchise is changing hands in all but name.

This: most of 343 is old bungie devs, and 343 was always working with halo franchise from the very start.

I like how people pretend that "Call of Duty in Spaaaaaaace" would somehow be a bad thing. We should be so lucky as to have Halo games get released as frequently and with such consistently high quality as the Call of Duty series.

The only thing that "concerns" me about the 343 change-over is that it removes the possibility of a Halo-Marathon crossover, which looks to be what the ending of Halo 3 was teasing at.

High Quality? When Infinity develops, i agree, they make good games. But when Treyarch develops, you get things like WAW or Black Ops...

Call of Duty is Spaaaaaaace would be a bad thing, no pretending here. With shooters like Mass Effect and Halo, and Killzone and to an extent Resistance already in the sci-fi market, not that many people want another CoD that comes in and wipes everything those consistently better rated games have done with its frankly boring and over-used features.

I would weep if Halo was released with the same frequency and quality as CoD. Weep with despair.

Call of Duty in SPEHSS! would be a bad thing; Mostly because it would then release every year, have overpriced map packs, horrible balance issues, and then also be done as cheaply as possible, with little to NOTHING changing between each installment.

Agreed. Like a poll said a while ago "there's too many CoD in the sea".

Mesopotamia. The Kingdom Where we Secretly Reign.

I like CoD. I don't much care for Halo.

I would actually buy "Call of Duty: Modern Black Ops Space Warfare in Space" before I spent money on another Halo game.

No problem with people's preferences, I myself just don't want the stagnation of a genre that has so far been fairly safe from CoD.

As long as i get to blow things up i am fine. So far Halo has given me the better blowing stuff up experience since their explosions are bigger and they have more explodey things to be exploding things with. Needless to say i will be buying BF3 and living inside it for several weeks.

Is Marty coming along for the ride?

The music goes hand in hand with the setting, I can't imagine anybody else doing it and I don't want to.

Can't think of a game with better fitting music throughout the entire campaign.

Guys.... So what if Bungie isn't creating it. a LOT of people from Bunjie are working on it. And IIRC the lead halo guy Frank O connor is working on it. It is in good hands.

We shall see. I think I heard somewhere that Micro$oft is having more of a hand in it, and if that is true (not saying it is), we will see how that helps/hinders it.

I was kinda stoked when they announced Halo 4 because Master Chief's plotline would finally end.

Then I heard that it's a second trilogy, I got pissed. This is going to become COD in space...

At the very least, Halo's singleplayer component has always been head and shoulders above most of it's peers. The storyline actually has a reasonable amount of depth, and it's incredibly well designed (and a lot of fun with friends).

I don't think it needs to die out yet, even if it is becoming slightly repetitive. The online competitive play doesn't interest me much; I suck pretty hard at it (so I'm not seeing the repetition as quickly as most). Forge mode is tons of fun, though.
