Can anyone tell me where i can get hold of those mini leaves and grass tufts i see people using for basing up? I have static grass and stuff but i've seen a lot of these leaves and tufts on other peoples work and it looks so cool.

Check online stores that sell model trains. I'm pretty sure the name of the brand I'm thinking of is Woodland Scenics. They sell flocking/base material and more textured stuff. Definitely long (like 2 inches) grass, and more textured items that could be the mini leaves you're talking about.

I think you might be taking about the "tufts" from Army Painter. I just putchased some of these from coolminiornot.com and they are awesome.

Here are some links:

Highland Tufts

Swamp Tufts

Poision Ivy

Jungle Tufts

Winter Tufts

My personal favorites are the Swamp and Jungle tufts used together.

Here is a video of their application:

Hope this helps you out

More than helpful. Thank you ever so much for taking the time to post those links bro. Expect to see some sweet ass bases appearing in my gallery soon.
Just looked at those links and that's just the stuff I'm after. Thanks again mate.

The Army Painter tufts are brilliant. I use them on my Tyranid desert bases.

Another nice idea is the etched brass foliage you can get from Hasslefree.

Definately go with the Army Painter Tufts. You'll never use flock again. The Army Painter's supplier is a company called "mini-natur" - as in "mini nature". It is written on the back of the cases and I recall it being used by someone in a thread not so long ago.

There's mini-leaves at Antenociti's Workshop too!

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
