I am new to the game.
So this is a silly question
I know a Librarian wear a Psychic Hood, and I never see any model (so far) of a Librarian wearing a helmet.
Can they wear a helmet? or their psychic ability will be hindered.
I know that GK are all psyker and they all wear a helmet.
So...can they? wear a helmet?

Peace

Plastic Terminator Librarians with Helmets on Space Hulk Sprue:

There are also at least three from the mid to late 90's, but I haven't got round to posting those to my gallery yet.

So in short, a helmet has no effect upon the ability of a librarian to use his psychic powers.

Probably work

I wouldn't see why they couldn't. I think I have a post-RT metal Librarian in power armor that has a helmet on at home. I also hacked up a failcost model to put a GK helmet in for my GK army:

There's a war around you. Put your helmet back on.

Wow those are some badass looking Librarian guys
reason why I asked is because I want to buy a Librarian, but kinda dont like the "face" on the librarian
I kinda like the emperor's champion model, and I want to convert that model as GK Librarian (since GK uses sword too).

After seeing those model I am sure now
Thanks guys.

LOL @ daedalus, it reminds me of starship trooper, during the training exercise where he took off his mate helmet. Than his friend's head got blown off

Yeah, you keep that helmet on during a live fire exercise. That was a pretty awesome movie.

Best of luck to you. Be sure to show us pictures of what you end up with.

Unless, of course, you can, I don't know, deflect bullets with your mind. Say, because you're a psyker.

But that was a great movie.

Important people who actually have names? Their name makes the bullets reflect away from them making the helmet redundant.

There is also the whole thing of librarias being able to deflect bullets and cast great sheilds of energy in fluff.

I have never understood the 'no helmets' complaint. Really? That's the most tactically unsound aspect of Space Marine wargear to you?

As opposed to what? His shoulders? He has free range of movement thanks to servoes and they protect his head from the sides. A Marine not wearing a helmet is like a tank crew operating the tank from outside.

Most? yes. Only? No. Running around in bright yellow power armor is a little silly also, but at least then they're in the armor. Guys without helmets are still guys without helmets. I don't care how many magic beans you've eaten, at the end of the day you're fragile enough to rationalize wearing armor to cover the rest of you, yet you leave the most fragile portion of your anatomy exposed? I can't buy it.

they just want to show the xenos their killer hairdoos, many an army have been known to retreat just at the sight of some classic SM hair!

I always find it funny when people start the no helmet so you're dead debate.

Of course the guy has a helmet and wears it, the mini is simply a representation of the character in a heroic pose, not a depiction of him as he is at any given moment during the battle.

If a marine depicted with his helmet on his belt can't actually wear it then a guy with a pistol in a holster can't be counted as having a side-arm and a marine holding a bolter can't put it down and do something like lob a grenade or open a door!

Sort of true. How many models are actually carrying their helmets, though? Most Space marine sergeants are not carrying a helmet anywhere on the mini. WYSIWYG he is toast. Also helmets are usually cooler looking then no helmets. Is anyone really gonna tell me that Luke looks cooler then Darth Vader?

Than by that account, no space marine model is actually carrying a bolt pistol, right?

The main reason for helmet-less sergeant and special character is to make them stick out more easily than their normal counter part. When viewed at normal gaming length, a bunch of guy in the same color armor look exactly the same, the fact that your sergeant has a few more 'bling-out' bit don't really show, same with him having a different weapons - the weapons are usually in a similar color to the armor anyway, and from a distance, you lose that detail... however, having a flesh-colored head in that sea of blue (or yellow, or red, or whatever) armor catches the eyes and you know right away that this guy is something special.

Just last week I played a guy who has a Chapter Master with Honor guard... they all wore helmet. I had no clue who was supposed to be the CM .

I often run Pedro Kantor with a bunch of Sternguards... and my Sternguard Sarge has no helmet. Pedro obviously does. Despite the fact that Pedro's model has a lot more details and he has a flag... most people assume the guy with no helmet is my HQ >_>.

In short, it isn't meant to represent 'realistic battle garb', it's simply for modeling/identification purposes.

Today we burry Captain Badassius who, despite his mastercrafted stormshield, his 10 feet long sword of awesomeness and his artificer armour, was killed when a lowly heretic had the audacity to throw a frag grenade at him. Alas his awesome name, 300 years of experience and an especialy thick skull did little to protect him from hundreds of tiny, hot metalshards which burried themselfs in his brain, which he required, contrary to some heathen propaganda, to live.
We will mourn his passing for his like will never grace the galaxy again. Praise the Emperor for small mercies.

Not sort of. Very.
The models are merely a representation of the individual in battle. People without helmets may have lost them to a glancing hit or during a clash with some melee combatants.
