I've jumped back on my completely fluffy Emp's Children after a long hobby hiatus and am making custom "cool" weapons for everyone across the board regardless of what rules I use (basically modifying the bolters and other guns to have monstrous mouths and eyes and look possessed). It will be clear beyond a doubt what's a Doom Siren or Blastmaster as each weapon type will look alike and distinct. I'm then left with the option of which rules set to use to best represent an oldschool EC army full of noise weapons, which I think is best covered by this datasheet. Basically, in a casual setting, would play against a non-apoc army using this datasheet, following all other normal army composition restrictions?

I'd be more than happy to play against that datasheet.

Would you be paying the 100 points to do it? That seems like a pretty nasty handicap for your average 2000 to 1500 point game.

But yeah, I'd play against that and have fun doing it.

Friendly game, absolutely. I love the Emp's Children as an army. Maybe not in a tournament...but when I run those, if someone wants to bring something not up to date/off the wall (including eye of terror lists) I say he has to ask all the other players. If even one person says no, I won't allow it. If all the players are okay with it, why not?

My actual choice is
Heck yes If I were allowed to use my "something else non-conventional" too

I would have to play against it once or twice to get a good feel on all of the "free" upgrades. In general, no I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I would pay the 100 points and it would most likely get eaten up by 5 units having MoS, so no major loss for a fluffy list really.

It's not a handicap when you consider that 100 points gives all the non-Marked units the Mark of Slaanesh as standard.

I'd yet you play it. What Gav and Alessio did to the Chaos Codex is inexcusable in my view (almost as bad as what Mat Ward is doing to the fluff today), so if this allows you to play your Emperor's Children army without a heaping dose of 'counts as', then go for it.

I wouldn't just allow it, I'd insist that you do.

If somebody wouldn't let you play this datasheet, they probably wouldn't be worth playing in the first place.
