So Im ( WOULD BE REMOVED BY MOD THIS IS A PREMPTIVE MOD BLOCK) and My dad was driving me back from the dentist (Barces checkup) and he is cursing at the crappy music Snoop Dog, Eminem, Ladygaga( She has SOME Ok songs most of her old stuff was aight) Justin bieber the list goes on and on and on. He turns the radio off and pops in some stones. Well the record sucked so he switched to lynyrd skynyrd. WTF HAppened to origanal Good music? I mean there is SOME Out there but it is slowly fading. It was like someone hit a light switch. Im (See first age Post) I wasn't alive in the prime of country and rock and im white( Verge of redneck) but I see white frineds(Not to be racist I have black friends) Dropping like flies to rap music and Bull Sh%t like that. MY white friends are trying to corrupt me. Im supposed to like this and this but this music sucks and this is in. No Im going to be the guy who goes against the current.

Hip-Hop or Rap (they are the same damn thing) has fallen off recently, the vast majority is just gak.

The old artists are still making good records for the most part (Wu-Tang, Ice Cube, Bone Thugs, soon DMX)

All the so called "Hip-Hop" in today's thinking, is all trash.

Don't worry OP, I also gave up on any hopes music would improve after Soulja Boy showed up. Hell, I even started searching for music in other languages to escape it.

So grats I guess? You never had to "rebel" against the music everyone else seems to like more or even go along with it. Like something because you like it, not because someone else does.

I also don't see what the ethnicity of your friends has to do with this. If they like crappy music they like crappy music, regardless of if they're white/black/yellow/maroon.

I don't know so much about White people or Black people, but nobody deserves to have to listen to Rap.....

If everyone looks through rose tinted glasses about Music, why is it that all the new songs I'm hearing suck compared to the old songs my local radio is still playing, and all they are playing is the terrible songs from yesteryear?

You're right, most of the good music is slowly fading. I mainly listen to late 90s-early 2000s punk rock, because there isn't anything good anymore.

There are still a few good bands still making good music out there. Flogging Molly, for example. What kind of music do you listen to?

If even one person enjoys a song, you are capable of enjoying it yourself if you try to find the groove. That aside, some things will have more effort or "artistry" behind them, but people are allowed to like what they want. Also, quit sounding like you're 12.

No, I have Black friends who hate rap and whites friends who Act like Eminem when i say falling i mean filling their ipods with only rap music while delteing EVERYTHING else. And don't talk to me about racism I go to a 80% minorty school and I get more Bull Sh*t than any of them. I said white Friends where it in all honsety should have been friends (Asians Hispanic, etc etc) and a majority of my black friends have always liked rap soooo....

Go to gigs. It's less marketable, hence less heard. But good music is out there

Depends on the genre really, some "mainstream" is ok, but the bubble gum/pop is just annoying ( IMO)...
For the most part I stick with my tried and true old punk roots.
