No longer care for the hobby and want to go out in style.
I'm looking for a 4000 point game of high stakes 40k.

Winner takes home both armies.

6x4 board, standard rules, roll for mission and deployment. New dice.
At the tomball crossing games workshop, any Friday.

Anyone feeling confident?

What army would you be playing? Are they painted?

Would you be interested in a cash game instead? I'm up for high stakes but I've spent alot of time assembling/painting my army to a high standard.

However I do have a second army I may be willing, not sure if I have 4k worth of points in it, however.

How many points in that one?

I'd consider a cash game, sure.

I have to count, but I believe between 2000-2500. I'll let you know Sunday when I get back into town. I may bump up the points with some vehicles from my main army. ^^

Going for 'pink slips' sounds like an intense evening

Oh yes indeed on the video. Full accountability and whatnot, no attempts at whining.
I can do a 2000-2500 point game with my tyranids, but im not as familiar with them. How about this: we instead play with our main armies, and have the secondary ones be the prize.

Ok, Im up for next week if you are. I really want to use my main army though. Actually, thinking about it let's do it after ard boys. I want to play my nids in a tourney at least once before I potentially lose them.
How about this: we play our main forces, 4000 point game.
The stakes will be our secondary army, 2500 points worth of models. We post our secondary army list here, and show up day of the game with our main armies written down and ready to go. Everything painted for the 4000 point force, so we can give these folks a good show as well.
The secondary army should be roughly the same $ cost. Mine is going to be mostly genestealers, 14 points each. Now, I could say oh they have toxin and adrenal for 20 points each, but that would be douchey. This might be tricky to work out actually. So let's broker this deal out a little bit.

Of course, our main armies are to remain secret to prevent list tailoring. We find out the day of the game. Sound good?

Are your nids painted? After ard boys is good, but we could hold the match before. If you're getting out of the hobby than why you need your old one? hehe. anyway, i'll PM you with my email and we'll work out a way to make things fair. Maybe equal model count (if equal size), or go by points with no upgrades? I'll research a good way to do it.

To save time. What do you think about posting the RACE of our main army so we can read about the other's units/special rules so we don't get confused if anything is weird. Well..we should PM that too so I everyone else can be surprised.

They're mostly painted. I just picked up a ton of genestealers,so there are several that need work. But are all at least primed and two colors.

My old army IS fully painted (for years now..), and I need it to play you. If you want to take winnings out of that army you can.
I need the NID army to play ard boys.

Race of the 4000 point army? That's a surprise. I've noticed you've kept yours secret too. Smart man, worthy opponent.

Oh, here's an idea:
We play for 100 models. Tanks count as ten models, special chars as four.
But bring a rules lawyer/ camera guy. I will be.

100 models sounds like someone plays a horde army and only wants to lose a few squads Question is what happens if you tie

Yeah... so what happens if he wins? Will he take the other persons army and then sell it?

Or maybe it's more of a -

OP: 'Hahaha! I won, gimme your army."
Other Person: *Sad Face*
OP: "Naw, I'm just kidding, here's my army!"

kind of thing.

May want to play it smart and have a neutral Referee for this game. I think it would be smart for players to invest in such a 3rd party when so much is on the line. 'Ard Boyz is BRUTAL every year and people are fighting for a $10 Gift Certifricate or a T-Shirt. So may as well want to play it safe and get a Ref.

That said, I'D LOVE TO SEE THIS BIG BATTLE PLAY OUT!

TYRANID ARMY and more for sale. Many Price Drops. 40K and More.

I'd like to discuss the terms of the winnings more, but as to the battle, are Two 2,000 point dispatchments ok to keep in line with the Army Org chart? It kinda breaks down at 3k...

I'm more partial to going by NIB price comparison for models. Since it's essentially a 'money' game that gives a good reference point. And we can tally up the 'new money' value ahead of time.

Although I do have some 1 production run stuff that is worth quite a bit on the free market that may be of interest...but aren't you getting out of the game ^^ I'm sure we'll come to a mutually beneficial agreement but it will be a hell of a game.

2 detachments of 2k work for you?

I don't think you would like that very much.
To be honest most forces struggle to get there.

But I'm positive that it would be wildly unbalanced to double the force org. I'll do that, but it would be very unsportsmanlike.

My list has a few things that take points just for flash though, but it's only like 200 points. Just pack on the special weapons.

I like that nib cost idea. Some of my models are older, but if we set an amount like $200 to start that could work. We can try and hustle one another for more once the armies are revealed.

So what do you suggest for Army Structure in massive non-Apoc games?

How about just extra slots, but not double? One extra in each category.
That would prevent things like double deathwing or ravager spam.

You're not the first to mention this. ^

I've been out of the hobby before. It just doesn't fit my lifestyle right now. When I go play, it takes hours out of a weekend day I could be spending with my soon to be wife.

Perhaps it should read the gaming aspect of the hobby. I'd love to pick up a new army to convert and paint. I'll still most likely have a battle diorama set up on one of my bookshelves. The rest of the models go into storage until maybe I play again or have a kid who does.

People considering that I'm doing this to screw anyone over are perhaps reflecting what THEY would do, not considering these other options.
It's not as if I've chosen a bad venue either. It's a games workshop. There will be other people there who are interested and possessed of rulebooks. When informed of the game, I'll bet some would gladly volunteer to judge and mediate.
It's really not like I've said " meet me off a dark country road. Bring no friends and tell no one of this game. Bring a shovel"
Get real, and grow up kiddies.

That takes care of one weekend; what are you going to do for the next 40 years?

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Try every weekend.
As is, I'm in the place most coupled warranted find themselves:
There are two time periods- two times a week and once every three months.
There are two activites- wargaming and sex.

And I have to choose one time period for each activity, no reusing time periods.

I'm sure there are some cynics out there, who argue that it's not worth it if she's cutting into my hobby time. I disagree.
It may be her succubus witch wiles that her gender is possessed of, nigh magical power over my testes, but I'm genuinely in the business of keeping her happy.
I've tried involving her in the gaming, and after turn one was over on a 3k point game(over an hour) she asked who had won. It was explained that there were at least four more turns.
You know the rest.

The result, many months of unhappy compromise later is that I'm out for a little while in terms of being an active gamer. I'll still play most likely, but rarely. So I want this one last big hurrah, followed by as many successive minor hurrahs as I can squeeze.
