Hello folks,

I've recently started my third army for 40K and, being an Imperial lapdog my whole life, I felt it was time to branch out into something new. So, Chaos Daemons. These are some pics of my first Bloodletters. I've gone with an extremely simple painting method, both to get them painted fast and to get the look I was going for, which was a kind of unreal, made-out-of-the-warp kind of thing. Hence why their weapons are the same colour as them with tinges of metal. I also painted half of my Bloodletters blue, as it's my intention to try out various unusual colours for the daemons in my army, just for fun.

Anyway, all very dry and dull. Here are the pics.

Bloodletters red, dilly dilly...

...Bloodletters blue.

They are coming, dilly dilly, to stab up you...

So there you have it.

Looking good and bright.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

I like the purple/blue models, they also look good interspaced with the red ones.

Perhaps have the hands and feet of the red ones a bit more purple to tie them together a touch more? So it kind of looks like they are phasing through the colours?

Hmm, interesting idea SilverMK2. Might give that a go. I intend to add some more 'letters at a later date, so I might go for something like that, only more pronounced.

I like the blue - how did you do it? It looks like asurman blue on top of white, though I've tried that and got very patchy results - whereas yours are nice and smooth. Any tips?

I really like the blue bloodletters! They are really unusual and it gives them sort of a nice fleshy look.
I'm not sure about the weapons being a color so close to their skintone. I think they are a bit too similiar.

These look really nice. The blue with the wash looks natural and clean. Congrats.

It was a really cheaty method, actually. It's just a couple of layers of Blue Wash over a white basecoat.

The similarity is kind of what I was going for, I wanted them to look like part of the 'letters rather than a separate weapon that they picked up on the way out of the warp.
