I've been looking around at conversion bits, and i came across these.

http://www.maxmini.eu/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12&products_id=139&zenid=e10cd456a825d77d31da3b88dfa8027c

Last time i checked, they weren't on the store, and im wondering, they APPEAR to be SM based backpacks, but do they actually fit on the models? I'd rather not buy myself 3 sets and then they dont fit on my CSM.

Also, a question about working with resin, specifically Maximini and Forge world resin.

Ive read everywhere that the reason is deadly, shreds the inside of your lungs, cuases cancer, all manner of things.

Getting a mask to work with it would not be an issue at all, but what about kids and pets? should i work far away from them?

Four words: Better Safe Than Sorry. Make sure you clean up all the dust and shards after working with it.

it does pose a slight cancer risk , but it is negligible unless you either go out to inhale it or you belt sand a titan and do lines.

It is not like they cast models out of ebola or something

Just take reasonable safety precautions as you would with any work where you are producing fine dust.

no matter what dust you work with they all are harmfull to your health, mdf dust is on par with resin for danger, theres nothing wrong with shaving resin or whitiling with a knife, its only sanding that relises particles. Plus you would have to work with a LOT of resin to get cancer I mean a lot.

Yes indeed. It's not Insta-Cancer, it's just something you should be careful about leaving around the place. Same kind of thing as not cutting towards yourself, or trying to superglue things together with your eye-lids.

Besides, everything gives you cancer. Big C's gonna get you if you live long enough.

ooh, that's perfect. I'm definitely gonna grab some, then. Thanks.

As for resin, people make it out to be like its made out of Ebola . I remember somebody posting in a thread about finecast that when resin was first used, people were coughing up blood all over the place. That made me think "uuuh, what?".

Thanks guys.

If one wanted to go to the trouble you could rig a vacuum cleaner near your workspace, run some plastic hose up to your bench and use a furniture cleaning head (with some fine screen over it to keep from eating parts). Dust problem solved.

One point about the cancer risk. There is no such thing as the amount of a compound necessary to create cancer risk. No threshold. If something can cause cancer then it can. Period. Every time you are exposed to a cancer causing agent you run the risk of getting cancer. The more you are exposed the greater the risk. If you cut down your exposure then your risk is reduced, but any exposure and you run a risk. Just saying.

Yeah, but it is the resin DUST that can cause cancer, not inhalating a dreadnaught. So be careful with filing, cutting is totally okay.
