Since it is considered "trolling" to post how you are buying GW stuff in the other tread, we'll consider the opposite trolling in this thread...

So, since the price hike and finecast came out, what GW stuff have you bought?

The price hike doesn't really effect me and hasn't altered my buying habits. I do like how easy it is to assemble the finecast models, but I don't like how brittle they are, I broke some Incubi feet off by stuffing them into the slotta base.

In my quest to have each 40k army to at least 5k of painted points, I bought off ebay some armies, which were basically kernels to start from:
1) Sisters
a) Bought: The named characters, 2 Exorcists, and 6 Repentia
2) Dark Eldar
a) Bought: The named characters, 4 Grotesques, 5 Wracks, 5 incubi, 2 Vemons, 1 voidraven (I think these look awesome), and 20 Wytches
3) Deamons:
a) Went crazy and bought: The named char, 18 fiends, 2 Grinders, and the FW Greater Deamons
4) Black Templars
a) This army was a mess, almost everything arrived broken, so I bought: 120 BT metal shoulder pads, the named char, 2 boxes of sword brethren, 6 boxes of assault terminators and the FW shoulder bits to go with them, 5 boxes of assault marines and the BT upgrade spures to go with them, and 2 boxes of marines and the BT upgrades.

All this stuff will soon be off to Shawn at BTP painting for a nice wonderful paint job and hopefully everything will be ready for Neil's tourment down in Myrtle Beach, so I can choose from any of the 40k armies.

Yeah, spending money is fun. I really have fun playing 40k (and I've been playing since 1986) and I do not like what GW is doing to other territories, but I want to finish my armies and I love the FW models. I'd love a more sane C-level to take over GW, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

So, what did you buy from GW/FW since the price hike and what are you happy about that you bought?

I also bought a ton of biker bases to base all my ancient ork warbikers

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts

Menoth - 300+ pts

I continue on as I always have.

Once I get this box of GK Termies assembled and painted, I
might get another.

I do have some Kasrkin that I painted recently and some guard
in the queue, but I don't have any immediate purchasing plans.

I haven't bought anything since Finecast, but that's not
because of Finecast. It's because I devote more time to other
products (WHICH SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS! ) and I
only buy stuff for specific factions when I've painted stuff
that I have that are in that faction.

Maybe in a few months?

I like the pain engine model, maybe I'll buy a couple today.

My new plastic GK are next in the queue for Shawn to paint. I really like all of the options that the GK termy box gives you. I think that box looks much better than my old 1st edition GK's.

I have bought:
2 Stormravens
2 GKT boxes
Njal and Njal Classic
Plaguemarines
SM Scouts
SM Landspeeder

Finecast:
Nurgle Daemon Prince
5x Hiveguard
SM Terminator Librarian

I won't be leaving the hobby anytime soon. I have too many armies and invested too much time to leave. The only thing that would get me to stop buying/playing would be terrible 6th ed rules. Even then I would probably still buy cool looking models to paint etc.

This month I have picked up a few things for my two son's armies:

1. Squad of assault marines

2. Squad of catachans

3. Sgt. harker

I have also been putting together a decent sized FW order list that i hope to make soon, and I have a semi-large order of various GW terrain kits i want to pick up for a number of planned terrain projects. Both of these orders will likely be made before the fall/years end.

For my own army I need a bunch of mega-nobz but have been getting them piecemeal off places like ebay; same for various bits and pieces to finish conversions and upgrades.

I also plan to pick up three Battle wagons in the near future and nine lobbas to round out my collection.

Haven't bought anything other than a finecast termie Librarian as I've been finishing off my 3K Raven Guard army.

Debating whether to go back to my drop guard army (kinda sick of guardsmen and I've got loads of mortar teams to build) or start something else.

I think a lot of people are more like me.

I gave up full price GW stuff after the 2010 price hikes. Since then I've picked up a fair bit of secondhand Tyranid stuff off eBay, and a couple of kits I needed in a hurry, to finish the army for a tournament.

If and when the Tau Federation codex is updated, I'll certainly buy that, because I have a Tau army. I would buy an awesome model like the Orca gunship from Summer of Fliers.

On the whole, though, I will substitute alternatives for models in my IG and SM armies, and I won't start any new armies.

I won't by any means have walked away from 40K, but my spending on GW will remain low.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I bought two finecast models, which I had to return and get replaced. In addition I've bought a small Covenant of Antarctica force, about 100 points of of Cygnar, and two old style carnefex models from ebay, all with the money I've received by selling off my eldar. Can't wait for the necron codex to come out so I can sell those models also. I'm looking forward to a few genestealer cult models, greatly expanding my circle orboros, and more Covenant of Antarctica.

I am really just buying enough to flesh out my Deathwing up to 2500 Points, then think I will dabble in WM/H, Infinity, etc...

Not that I don't mind spending the funds if needed, just no plans to start another army ... yet.

Bought all the Storm of magic plastic goodies (except terrain), metal templates, book, cards with grimoire (which I found underwhelming, I'll stick with my PDA case) and have the dice and dark emissary on pre-order.

I don't even need most of this stuff, I just found the caster mini's too good to resist, and for the monsters, I bought them on the off chance that I use Transformation of Khadon at some point. I like having all options covered when it comes to stuff like that, rather then proxying.

Next purchases will probably be some other form of monster for Scrolls of Binding, possibly the new WH Forge Carmine Dragon, as well as the rumored 2nd wave beasties coming hopefully soon.

While I haven't bought anything since right after the IOB launch, I plan to buy the new DE dragon, the Chimera and the Cockatrice.

From there it's a matter of deciding on if I want to continue building an Orc army or if I'd rather devote my time to the Empire.

I don't really understand the nerd rage of selling the army you already have because you are mad at GW. Sure, if you aren't going to play anymore or need the cash, but selling an army because of a price hike, seems very stupid to me. You already have the army and presumably have fun playing the game. So, at the very least, just don't buy models anymore if the prices are beyond your reach.

I think it is funny that folks keep bringing up other game systems in a GW thread. In that same time, I bought a bunch of FSA spaceships, the new antarctic starter boxes, a bunch of Wyrd stuff, and the new warcasters for the new Warmachine book. Yes, it is possible to buy highly priced (or so folks say) GW models and other companies' models at the same time! I know, I know it is totally unprecedented and amazing.

On topic, however. I did buy a Citadel Battlemat. Which I am having tons of fun playing Flames of War on!

What is your point?

They is a big difference between not listening to a podcast and switching to a different foam producer than selling your army because of a price hike.

I recently bought the DA vetran kit for my BT army.
I also got a bassilisk and 2 leman russes(?) for AUS$45 on ebay which is pretty good when any one of these kits is about $80 here.

But I have about 80 models to paint for my guard army and about a 1000 points of templars in different stages of being painted.

Once wayland starts selling to the rest of the world again, I plan to buy some valkyries.

I Want to get a couple boxes of Wracks at some point to use for Cephalyx Drudge Slaves (again for my Cryx) because the drudge figs are irredeemably bad. However that is a VERY low priority right now as my Cryx are going on hiatus as I start up a new Cygnar army.

I have bought a unit of Empire Knights, a Inquisitor with Flame Pistol (Gonna use him as a Fantasy Hellsing-esque vampire though), The White Dwarf (model) and Nagash

Admittedly I have bought more from both Mantic (60 Dwarf Ironclads) and eBay (Astrogoth, Ogre Hunter and 40 Gnoblars)

I'm planning firstly to buy about 70 more Chaos Dwarfs from a guy online (when I get my next paycheck) and then fous on finishing my Orcs and Goblins (what I'll get there hinges on a trade I'm negotiating)
