So there I was, ready to get started priming my empire greatswords with some white primer spray(because I use a bright color scheme). I shook it and followed all the directions, and when I sprayed the model and for some reason, the spray came out all clumpy and hard, so I got the next model to try again and shook it up well and made sure I was holding it far enough away. The same thing happened. This spray was so crappy I will never buy it again, it looks like my models got sprayed with a fire extinguisher or snow maker. So i did the rest of the regiment with my black primer spray which works great. They look so awful and one of them is my standard bearer! Somone please tell me how to get this crap off of them! I have access to paint thinner btw.

Aye, +1 Coolyo294. Paint thinner will thin yer plastic too, if yer catchin' meh' drift. Let the wee lads take a bath for a day or 2, and scrub 'em with an old toothbrush n' water.

Simple green is a multi-purpose, environmentally friendly, minty smelling green solution found at most Walmarts (either the cleaning isle or automotive department). Get yourself a cheap tupperware container too that can hold your model and keep it completely submerged (with lid, of course).

The simple green is good for multiple uses, so don't dump it when you're done

+1. Let em soak for ~48hrs (a week if you want, it's safe) for a nice easy scrub. If that doesn't clean it 100%, lather - rinse - repeat until results are to your satisfaction.

Straight and only for like 3 hours at a time I have been told the plastic gets soft if you keep em in too long as in dont over night.

Use good quality primer I prefer the army painter colored primers work well and are cheap and lasts sooo long, also amazing quality.

I've left models in simple green for a week and longer and had no issues with damage to the models. Primer usually sloughs right off.

You could strap a pantsless ork on something and make it look Imperial with enough Aquillas and Purity Seals. -Da Butcher

true story.

I've left models in for a month to the same effect: no damage!

+1. Had to strip some nids once that took 2-3 weeks to get the crud off (quickshade is a pain to strip).

the one thing nobody appears to have mentioned though is that primer likes to stick more than paint. It still comes off though. I'm in the process of stripping 40 guardsment and then some for a buyer of my used stuff.
