Is there any point to the little girl that is on the Helljack Nightmare. Is there a story behind why there is a girl on the models base. Also does she have a name.

Nope. Just generic small child about to be turned into a soul-snack for the helljack.

I think it helps give nightmare more of a story, it certainly gives his model some narrative. He is after all Denegrah's warjack and she was kidnapped by Skarre as a small child herself.
It's as if Denegrah is spreading the corruption.

And it's got some really well done art in the Cryx book of that scene.

The art and the model actually string together some. Since if you look at the art, Nightmare has the calws on the chimney, but not quite seeing the girl yet. In the model, he's looking about at her. Its a sad, but pretty cool kind of bit of art, that.

And stuff.

I wonder if Nightmare would actually bothering killing her myself. I highly doubt she's his Prey, poses no threat or thrill, and he doesn't use Souls. It would be akin to stepping on every bug that crosses his path.

I think its more about the name of the jack than anything else. Little girl has nightmares about cryx but in fact they are real.

The problem with this is that it is stated several times that cryxian helljacks are extremely violent and bloodthirsty. So i think
nightmare would in fact crush every bug that crosses his path, even it is a small helpless child

Does anyone else think that perhaps she has something to do with Deneghra? As in, perhaps she represents her stolen childhood or something?

I think this is the beauty of the model, that we can have a discussion about what is happening on the model the same way people talk about fine art. Just brings a tear to my eye.

I think my favorite part about Wrath is that they really give the Character 'Jacks a personality. From Black Ivan being annoyed to be doing labor, to the bit with Rocinante starting a battle with the Menites, I think they were handled very well. It was neat to see the characters interact with their 'Jacks and how they had their own personality quirks.

Yeah I like that part too after reading it, it seems that jack emotion is not only available in three flavour
1. Expressionless
2. ANGER ANGER
3. Utmost devotion

That was a cool aspect of the Wrath fluff.
Really liked the description of Damiano reacting the Rocinante shooting.

That was counter-pointed by the overt game mechanics showing in the fluff.
Some of it felt a bit like watching a Yu-Gi-O or Pokemon commercial.

I love the nightmare model. Its like a mini diorama.

My friend didn't like having the little girl on the base of his Nightmare, so he gave it to my other friend who plays Protectorate. Said little girl is now sadly sitting at the base of a Wrack watching her daddy get tortured.

Or so I've been told. It kind of makes sense fluff-wise...

Not even a little, given that Nightmare isn't Skarre's warjack.

She may be symbolic of denegrah and possibly a future warwitch, but nightmare came much after her own abduction. Nighmare is the jack haley dominated to kill denegrah before her rebirth as an undead. Denny chose to upgrade that jack into her character for some morbid reason.

A tad more morbid alternative i have seen is a Trencher who is about to put a gun to his own head then let Nightmare get to him. The guy has a particular hate-on for Cygnar, but I admit that the fact that the pose of Nightmare and the bit fo chimney there do let you get some nice mini-dioramas going.

And stuff.

I've seen some people put her on a small base and use her as a prey marker, but I could see that getting in the way if it's not placed on a unit out in the open.

Markers are a great idea. And if they get in the way you just move them out of the way. Creative markers are even better.

I personally like the idea that the girl represents Denny's childhood. The last little human bit of Denny is still there, but her Nightmare is trying to finish it off.

kinda like Luke and Vader. hehe

She's a reminder that Character Jacks will never again actually have characterful sculpts.
