*subject to my eccentricities.
I am looking to buy a miniature transport case for my warhammer warriors of chaos army and I was looking for assistance in selecting a great case.
I was looking at the cases offered by battlefoam initially, but one thing really threw me about them is that I don't like the way they look. I think the overall design is fine, but their olive coloring is not. I'm looking to buy a case that does not scream "I am carrying little plastic men which have been painstakingly assembled and painted." In other words, no gaming slogans, no references to war/battle/combat, and hopefully no overt branding.
Is there a product comparable to battlefoam in quality, but which is just plain black?

There's a ton of threads on carrying cases. Check them out and you may find one that meets your needs. The one company that specializes in the blue-bottomed trays looks interesting, and probably does black with minimal branding (but I'm too focused on their hot pink case searing my retinas).
Most of the newer/branded Battlefoam bags are black, though, so they may still be the best option. They may only do the branded ones in black.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy. |

If you your only issue is the look of the bags, try this:
Order the trays from battle foam. Buy a carrying case with the equivalent dimensions from a luggage store. Blam.
I also hate the idea of carrying around a bag with a logo, even if it is small. Battlefoam, if you are listening, make a plain version. You are missing out on customers.

Thanks for the link assistance. The portable warfare case looks decent. I'd imagine it would be really easy to use a fabric marker on that white lettering...

Important questions: are you looking to magnetize base your army so an entire regiment can be deployed at once in a brick? If so consider Army transport and their 4-5 inch tray. I did this with my skaven and its fantastic. Basically you are ready to play with minimal effort as long as your good with putting minatures back on a magnetizable tray.
If you only issue with Battlefoam is the color of the case you can die it or consider spray painting it. Battlefoam is a fantastic product. I think your proirities should be.
1. Projecting your investiment
2. Ease of usage / travelability
3. Sturdiness
Look shouldn't really be a factor as your playing a game with models not your case. I struggle to understand why a lot of people will drop so much on an army, and then not consider a third or fourth of the cost of a case. I'm a big fan of Army Transport, but if I needed a larger case, would use Battlefoam in a heart beat.

I didn't mean for it to sound dickish. instead of posting my thoughts on the same subject again, I figured I'd just drop you a few links.
Happy bag hunting!

I was planning on magnetizing the models' bases, but I hadn't thought of that. It's a good idea

Have a look at this article for a complete listing of pre-made figure cases.
Many/most of those cases come in black.

I custom built my own...
Not only does this save money on shipping, etc, but I now own a customised, personalised case.
Its an old wooden cassette case that has been refurbished and I removed the dividers. I then cut foam to size and viola!
Now to engrave a space wolves chapter symbol on it and varnish.

I can't recommend KR Multicase enough. Their cases are blank and look like luggage. Shipping is free, and their cases are cheaper than anyone else's.

Lies.
If you felt so strongly, you would make a thread about them, ensure that it was quality enough to be stickied and then PM a link to the thread to every new and existing member on Dakka...
That would be a case of "can't recommend KR Multicase enough"

A real case of "can't recommend KR Multicase enough" would be me coming over to the OP's house with a tattoo gun and tattooing their logo on his forehead before leaving him with a Kaiser case. For the sake of simplicity, I'll stick to singing their praises in this thread thank you very much

Just ordered my second Battlefoam case. They are a little more expensive but I've been really happy with them. Before Battlefoam I always used Sabol. I still like Sabol cases a lot, but don't like dealing with pluck foam.
If you plan on magnetizing your bases, you might consider just getting a metal tool box and attaching the bases to the bottom and sides. I know somebody who does that, and the models hold their place well. Make sure you've got strong magnets if going this route though.

Second for KR Multicase. Fantastic value, and doesn't look like a toy soldier case.
