15pts for a 6+ ward save against magic and the ability to deal hit ethereals or hit things that have the cannot be hit except by magical attacks rule. Would suck to have your HPA get tarpitted by some Bainshees or by a single hero with some armor or tailsman that makes him immune except from magical attacks hold up your big bad 235pt HPA, better to spend the extra 15 pts.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

No, don't ever take them. Me and my wraiths think that 5 more clan rats is a better buy.

It really depends on you local opponents though. I have yet to run up against anything ethereal, and skaven do have a large number of magic attacks in the form of weapon teams, warp lightning cannons, anything with the "Warpstone Weapons" rule like Jezzails and Globadiers and ya know, spells and magical weapons.
That said, 15 points isn't a whole lot. That 1-in-6 time that the ward save comes through...

Since you are already payingover 14x that amount for the Abomb in the first place, I'd go ahead and do it. The only reason not to is if you are within 15 points of fitting another rare unit into your army (say, you want a second Cannon and you only have 80 points left in your rare allocation).
