In the find a game forum, the Dakka Gamer List at the top of the forum hasn't been updated in months, and I've seen quite a few people complaining on the thread itself, though not doing much about it.

Maybe we could gather a team of volunteers to regularly update this thread to make the gamer catalogue easier to use? I'd be willing to participate and I actually tried to update it myself about six months ago, but its big of a task for one person alone.

I think the gamer catalogue is a great part of Dakka, and as one of dakka's more isolated members, I regularly look through it in hopes of finding a player near me. It would definately help everyone if it was updated.

It is eventually getting replaced with some neat find-people-near-me tools which will be integrated some time in the future. A huge amount of the people listed are now well out of date, and despite kind volunteers, it would not be worth the effort to clean up and maintain with new features on the horizon.

When you say months... I think you meant to say days since the last update

Granted, we're not quite up to date yet, but I've only 5 more pages to churn through. It takes a surprising amount of time to go through 12 pages of posts and sort it all out... I hope to have it up to date this weekend.
