Hey, as the title says, I am new to worgaming. I have no idea what's going on when it comes to compiling lists.
However, I had a go. I really like the IG and love the idea of a more infantry based army moving up the board supported by heavy amrour.

Is there any 500pt list for this kind of tactic?

The best I could come up with is this:

2 x Vet squad -each:
Vet Squad – 70
Vet serg – power weapon – 10
3 vet – flamers – 5
Demolitions – 30 pts

CCS – 50
Commander pw – 10
Commander melta granades– 5
Medi vet – 30
Heavy flamer – 20
2 x plasma - 30
Carapace armour – 20

Chimera (for CCS) - 55
Heavy bolter – free
Hunter missile – 10
Extra armour – 15

475 -Total.

Do you guys see the type of thing I am going for? I have so much to learn

Vets don't reall work on foot. They need a chimera as well. At least one of them should have 3 meltas.

CCS can be kept lean - don't get the carapace asthey should be in their chimera. Use HF on the chimera, don't take it in the squad. Medic also not worth it. Drop the extra goodies as well on the chimera and that should help towards a transport for the vets.

I think you've sunk too many points into your CCS. It's a tempting thing to do, but you never get a good enough return on your investment. I'm also not sold on Demolitions, as the demo charge is a serious risk to your own guys.

My suggestion:

CCS
Plasma Gun
Vox Caster

Chimera

Vet Squad
2 x Meltaguns
Heavy Flamer
Vox Caster

Vet Squad
2 x Meltaguns
Heavy Flamer

Leman Russ

500pts

Now, someone's going to leap in here and say 'don't combine heavy flamers with melta guns.' Personally, I find the versatility of such squads to be very, very handy, but that's all going to be a matter of taste. They've won games for me in the past, so I love them.
