Aaaaaaah the Battle of Rorke's Drift remake !

I have very good memories about reading the old Battle Report in a WD, years ago !

Thanks a lot for posting yours !

Edit : And nice to see these orks to finally get a victory without the "last roll : duh !" effect of yours

Thanx guys I'm really glad you enjoyed the report, I'm going to have a go at recreating some other famous battles for my channel. I was thinking of perhaps doing a D-Day style beach landing, or perhaps a scenario inspired by the Movie Black Hawk Down.

Which famous battle scenes would you like to see recreated in a report?

Famous battle scene, how bout...

The Battle of Thermopylae
Imerial Guard (The infamous 300th battalion) vs Tyranids (The endless swarm of the persian hive fleet).

That would be fun!

Great battle report.

I don't know much about Praetorians but do the commanders give some sort of area advantage to the army?

If not then why did the command just sit up there for the whole game, why didn't they act as an observe and react force?

I play:
Imperial Fists - 9000 pts
Tyranids - 1500 pts

GENERATION 9: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Pretty cool batrep. Thanks for putting it all together. Next time do some stop-motion photography? lol

I liked the theme here too; Zulu is a good movie and it's nice to see how well it transfers into 40k.

I wish that your title or opening post mentioned that the batrep has no actual pics of models/terrain and is purely graphics.

"Animated" batreps usually refer to videos in which cinematic effects (muzzle flashes, etc.) are added to pics/video of actual models/terrain.

Some people like the style of batrep you posted, and some would like to have some photographic proof of the game. Regardless, making the nature of the video a little more clear rather then forcing people to have to click on the link to find out would be appreciated...

I'm sorry if you found the title misleading, I will make a note to make the title clearer in future. Also I will endeavor to start including some more pics of my games, if not on the actual video itself then on the thread linking to the video. I hope you will then find the reports more enjoyable.

I notice from your reports that you like themed scenarios, do you have any ideas for themed scenarios I could make from my youtube channel?

I think this could really work, maybe would could use the old rules form the 3red Catachan codex? What special rules did you have in mind?

Maybe use the terrain rules from the catachan codex but with more traps and mines. Give the catachan valkeryies as dedicated transports? Give the traitor guard rules from the old catachan codex? Hve like a jungle skirmish were the valkeryies land the troops in an open area and start walking through the woods till they are ambushed by the traitor guard, Whenever the traitor guard take 50% losses they must test on the highest leadership or they run back into their holes while the same rules apply to the catachan and if they fail the test then they fall back to the valkeryies? Flamers are a must and no av above 12 is allowed?

Cool report, and a great scenario. I still have the WD with the GW report. Always a good run since Zulu is such a classic.

D-Day would be fun. I had the privilege of playing in a D-day campaign years ago. We had a 16 foot beach/trench table (well two tables) and it was a blast. Imperial forces landing against entrenched ork/chaos.

Then we went into hedgerow country. Lots of fun and made for a great story. I'm not going to relay all that here thankfully.

I'm a sucker for last stands/small forces versus hordes.

Blackhawk Down or Courage under Fire would be awesome. A small force securing a crashed transport until help arrives.

I'm also a sucker for bridges, what about Pegasus Bridge? An elite force of IG holding a bridge against Orks until they are reinforced. That'd make a good one as well.

Love animated reports, though wouldn't mind some pics of your force (as long as they are painted). Maybe shove them in at the beginning?

But this is fantastic, do more please

No my Orks have a German WW1 theme to them... I like to call them "Da Deff Korps"... The IG looked the part though
