Hi all

First off not sure this is the right place to post this so if im wrong my bad.

So some of the opponents I play are convinced that they can charge anything and everything that is anything that is within 90 degrees to the left and right of the straight forward, because under charges it says you get the 90 degree wheel.

Anyways this is extremely irritating since having a unit parked out side their charge radius normally gets charged and making most movements useless and very aggravating.

Anyways when I was taught the game of WHFB I was told front arc is all you can charge anyways.

How do I make it clear to them that you cant charge a unit that is completely and without a doubt in their side arc?

Show them the page in the BRB that says you can only charge things in your front arc?

Where does it say specifically front arc?

I showed them the must charge directly forward part but they said oh that is forward with my 90 degree wheel. :(

Don't you have to have LOS to the target to charge? If you have to wheel 90 degrees THEN go, you couldn't have seen the target.

Yes but they see line of LOS as everything in front of the block as in the unit has 180 degrees of vision from the front.

if you look at the brb under the line of sight rules, it staights units can only see other units in the front arc,

explain it as if at the BEGGINING of the movement phase before charges are declared you must check line of sight, if the unit cannot be seen it cannot be charged,

charges MUST be declared BEFORE units move, rally or anything else for that matter, because its basically showing how some units that are fleeing or improperly positioned units in the previous turn can get in the way of charges

and LOS is only 90 dergrees, take a stirng or straight edge and go from the back corner of your unit across the middle and out the opposite corner do this infront of them lol, then do it on the other side verything within the triangle you created is in the fornt arc NOTHING on the outside of the triangle

Show them the actual rule. It also helps to hear their side of the argument, as all you need is a blazing row.

And, if the worst comes to the worst, the BRB is a big, hard back book. I think you can figure this one out.

I read the article over many times and still didnt realize I read it so ya got it all solved.

This is the kind of problem that comes up when the rules are so bloated. There's loads of stuff that I either forget or read wrong.

True would be nice if it was like front arc boom you can see all that in front arc and can charge all thats in front arc done next point.

I would smack them in the side of the head and ask if they saw it coming.
