Hey, this morning I was at a carboot sale- albiet a one in a slightly more upper class area than my usual- and I managed to buy a ton of miniatures for a humble £25 (down from £40...because being Glaswegian I'm a git). Now could anyone enlighten me as to how much this stuff's actually worth on the secondf hand market- I already have an idea of how much it caused the kid I bought it off of originally? ...I guess its going to be that time of the month again when I noise up my fellow gamers at my local hobby club about the wonder of street markets. ^^

That's... completely and totally unfair.

I agree with Jenkins. Getting all of that for 25 quid was an insane deal.

I was just reflecting that out of the 200 odd miniatures there, if I were to sell only 10 of them for stock price I'd make my money back-one marine tactical squad is still £18 right? I just need the secondhand prices. =/

...Oh yeah...and @ infinite_array...I'm a complete git. ^^

Pft, and a guy's flog off they're plastic cadians for 75p plus each at my local wargaming club. ¬¬

@bombboy1252

I did pick up about five leman russes, a load of chimeras, and about two armoured fist squads of steel legion (plus a griffon too I think) last year for £10 (I'm thinking the guy picked them up in a house clearance, like I am to do at times, and didn't have a clue what they were). Pity I sold them on, I'm starting an armoured company now. =/

I have a friend whose entire hobby life had entailed buying armies, building them, painting a unit or two and then selling them for this sort of price. All interspersed with periods of complaining about not having anything to game with.

Very nicely done. I as well had a great score last week.

I would have bought the rest of his stuff if I'd had the spare cash. (CSM, Nids, Orks)

I did though pick up:

Eldar
3 Farseers
10 Warlocks
26 Guardians
10 Storm Guardians
3 New War Walkers
1 New Wraithlord
10 Wraithguard
6 Jetbikes
2 Vypers
3 Falcons
1 Wave Serpent
10 Striking Scorpions
2 Autarchs
1 Avatar
5 Swooping Hawks
5 Fire Dragons
5 Warp Spiders
10 Dire Avengers
And a ton of bits, ranging from old metal dire avenger heads, to new weapons, arms, swords, etc etc etc. I am sure I am forgetting something. That is about $1000 retail worth of stuff.

Price $100

Check your local Craigslist sometimes, it can suprise you.

Oh yea, and 8 Rangers.

Pity I have no idea what I'm going to do with all the LOTR's stuff; I'm not into Ebay, and I don't think I know anyone that still plays it. And why can't kids just build they're model's properally. Seriously, who sticks a fusion blaster to a marine's head and calls it a day?

...On the positive side I have found the perfect head for my Mordheim warband. They're based off of the Dead Rabbits gang from the film Gangs of New York, and having a Leonardo wannabe already, I've found an old empire cannon crewman that's the spitting image of the Butcher.

He would have probably have taken less aswell...I just was just a bit too euphoric to haggle (seriously I go up to the dealers thinking that they know what they're selling, and thus would have prices at least somewhat realistic...then I realise that I'm in Glasgow...and that people can be really stupid). Pity the thing's now in a half dismantled state-...I was going to convert it into a Mk3...but things came up. Alas I spent more on lunch than I did models that day-I also bagged Sharkey from LOTR for £1, plus a few bits and bobs from another ignorant guy (who continually comes up trumps; four Imperial Guard Sentinals for £20, reselling three of them for £30). If only the guys I sold this stuff to were as reliable (still owed money on those walkers ¬¬).
