Just thinking of a cool (and viable) tactic in apocalypse, with the disruptor beacon tactic, (using raiders and a baneblade as an example) If you had 3 or so raiders about 3" away from a table edge and then a baneblade came in within 48" of the beacon, would you be able to set its entry point near the raiders so that it wouldn't be able to come on fully and be auto-destroyed? Is this violating the rules?

(IIRC) I don't think so. The game would be a bit boring though if every time your opponent tried to bring in reserves they died.

Edit: and if they're within 48" of the beacon

when you move the Baneblade using the disrupter beacon you still have to follow the normal deployment rules so you actually have to place it somewhere that would have been valid for your opponent to place it. you couldn't place it somewhere illegally.

I thought that by "select an entry point" it meant "select a point from which it can move on to the table" and thus the opponant would be moving it on.

This is all because GW didn't think of superheavies with the rule that you have to come all the way onto the table or be destroyed. I think that it would be destroyed since it has to be on the table to be affected which it cannot legaly do.

don't go down that path.
if you do, then Baneblades will automatically be destroyed whenever they come on from reserves as it is impossable for them to get on fully with their 6" move.

I know I used to take the Company of 3 and bring back Yarricks baneblade as my strategem. It hurts now but it is the rules.

Any opponent who will not let you bring on a Baneblade from reserve (while playing Apocalypse for Christ's sake) needs to be banned from your list of people with which you would play anything, ever. Apocolypse is the ultimate graveyard of the rules lawyer, as it's intended for narrative play; all players need to agree to have fun and work with each other when the rules aren't clear or are inane (as is the case here). Die-hard WAAC competitive play is just not the attitude to take when agreeing to an APOC game.

It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

First off no you cannot bring it on sideways as part of it would hang off.

Second: No they let me do it since it was hillarious to see Yarrick throw his Vortex Grenade (reward for last game in a campaign/tournament thing we were doing) Only to eat a belly gun from a Gargant a turn after said Gargant blew up his tank only to return a turn later and drop the Super Heavy of Doom then. My point was since it was a tournamentesque game (the final climactic battle of good vs evil) they would have been within their rights to say no.

Ok, to head off all the off-topicness, lets use the example of a land raider instead

It won't fit sideways. But, it will fit on it's side.
We're told you have to use the model, but there's no rule defining which way is "up" or "down".

That is an awesome idea! But since they let me hang it off I don't want to kill (break) my own super heavy. If someone rules lawyers that I would just have to gibbsmack them...tell them its a game, and move on.

My point was if you positioned other vechicles so that the veichle cannot move on to the board completely (or be able to ram with a high enough s to get through)
