Hi my Shadow Legion Chapter is a Blood Angel Successor Chapter and I had bought a Blood Angels battle-force about a month or two ago and have not realy built the death-company troops so I was wandering seeing how I don't own a blood angel codex yet so I don't know what are the best load outs for the death-company. Almost 99% of images of the Death-company that I have seen have them with a pistol and chainswords or with a bolter.

Which do use and why?

Also I have included a picture of my standard Colour scheme what would you say would be the best looking colour scheme for the death company the normal one or a different one.

Also the Ferrous Dreadnought looks live so If I where to get one what would be the best way to go, and seeing how I want to use my army both as blood angels and in other games as normal marines.

what here would be the best option?

I use mine in small numbers 5-8 with jump packs and 2-3 power weapons. All goes in a stormraven usually. They have to take a transport to actually be effective so if you don't want raven ditch jump packs and kit them out with power weapons. If delivered properly they can take almost anything on the charge, or will distract a lot of your opponents guns. I don't see the point of bolters really on a close combat squad especially with rage because they should be in a transport until the turn before they get into assault, and that +1 attack is better IMO than that one extra shot on rapid fire.

Or make a squad of 30 with dual thunderhammers and laugh as your opponent panics about what to do.

Thanks for the Reply, and what about the ferrous Dreadnought do you think it is possible to pull it off as an ironclad for when I play normal marines if I make it look like it has armor plating.

I take it you mean Furioso Dreadnaught? Yeah I don't see a problem with that.

I don't see why not, unless your playing a very hardcore opponent who has a problem with it. Most of those guys aren't fun to play with anyway

SO from what I have heard from you guys and the other sites i have been looking at, pistol and chainsword/powerweapon are the way to go and up don't need the jump packs unless you have a stormraven, which I don't.

I don't have any input on the dreadnoughts, but I really like your paint scheme. For death company I would still use predominantly black but with silver and blue-Grey highlights like the rest of your legions colors.

I think I would go with the furioso dreadnaught if i were going for massed infantry, armed with a pair of talons. pair of pf for vehicles. Personally I do not use the libby dread and dc dread.

Ah now I have two people saying two different things about the colour scheme the one problem is that I have all ready started painting my Death Company and they have a colour scheme that goes along the lines of Quote number 1

I prefer the death company dread, but I have it in a Storm Raven to cancel rage. It has -1 front armor, but can't be stunned or shaken. If it's not in a pod or a raven than furioso, libby it if you have the points

Basically, Nightfall that is, tell us what you plan to use it as...

We don't need an army list, but just an indication of what function it will be performing.

If just for modelling, then a DC dread, definitely. Those talons are sooooo coooool

There is at least one Blood Angels successor Chapter, the Angels Encarmine, that uses a white color scheme for their Sanguinary Guard and Death Company.

So, I would say that since this is a home brewed successor chapter of yours, feel free to make it any color scheme you want.
