So, as you guys all know, we have a METAL!!!! thread almost every other week, and we almost instantly get two pages of music within the first day.

But I was wondering what everyone's favorite Non-metal songs were, to see just how open to music people truely are on Dakka.

Please remember to put them in spoiler tags, so as to not bog down the thread.

Meh, it's slightly over the top, but I'd say it would be allowed if you put a NSFW on it.
That's probably because I've listened to it many many times though, other people might not be quite so open.

anyhoo...

Also I just want to say that I approve of this thread, DakkaDakka is too overpopulated with metal threads imo. There's other just as great genres out there people need to be more adventurous when it come to music.

Huh, really? I've only seen two metal related topics...but then again I haven't been here for that long either...

I do listen to a lot of metal...mostly...however I will refrain from posting the other stuff I listen too because it also falls under the "Rock and roll" genre, there's some country music and other stuff in there too, but I'm sure nobody wants to hear that...

Spoiler:

Warning this song is in two parts:

Godspeed You Black Emperor!: Bleak, Uncertain, Beautiful
Part 1:

Part 2:

Some of you will reconginse this as East Hastings from F#A#∞ or from the 28 Days Later soundtrack, this version is from the original vinyl of F#A#∞ and in my opinion superior to the later CD version. Then again having spent quite a lot of money on my first pressing copy of the vinyl I would think that.

BTW I was fortunate enough to see GYBE over the weekend, they're even better live.

Are you sure it's not just subgenres of rock because there's actually a difference between rock and rock and roll.

...I....I don't know...there are so many categories, genres, sub genre's and classifications in music that I find it hard to qualify a lot of the music I listen to as specifically one thing...

This... this isn't metal. But I haven't got a frigging clue what it is. The guy posted it says it probably qualifies as terrorism, and I'm inclined to agree, but I like it anyway, and it probably disqualifies me from criticizing anyone's taste of music at any point ever:
