I've been thinking about doing a new army for sometime. I was going to do CSM again, though I had done these before. I've never been a massive Eldar fan (though I played with the Eldar for a bit) but the Dark Eldar seemed good from what I read. I have had two proxy games with them winning one game and losing the other. With my mind made up on the units and the army itself I started collection!

Here's my list, I'll be using this as a check list for what has been built and painted.

My first purchases was two Venoms and a box of Kabalite Warriors. The Venoms are cool but damn those Warriors are annoying! I next splashed out and picked up a box of Hellions (counts as Beastmasters) two Ravagers and another three Venoms, I do have another four on order btw, I also got some Dire Wolves for counts as Khymerae which I will be converting.

I managed to build the below so far, though all the aboe I managed to get built last night for a game tonight.





Next I started working on a simple Razorwing Flock conversion. Basically the flock is the undercarriage blades from the vehicles joined together, this one is just a example and needs tarting up a bit.



I also painted this test Warrior to see a colour scheme. I was thinking necron abyss with tentacle pink armour plates, but in the end I used ultramarine blue and dwarf bronze which gives the Dark Eldar a 'I'm better than you' look. I washed the model with badab black and devlan mud to darken it.



Will be making more progress soon either building the other four Venoms over the weekend or getting more models painted

Ok so I see what you meant by the "metal bird thing" before, and that could work. I like how you are turning the most expensive part of the list (beasts) into a cheaper plastic version. I'm really interested in seeing how this turns out.

Metal bird for the win mate. Needs a bit more work but the concept is there. So far Beastmasters have cost me a box of Hellions (though need one more model) and a box of Dire Wolves which cost me £10.00. I've got enough bitz to make the Razorwing Flocks and job done. I'm just hoping the Venoms arrive this week.
