Is elmer's "glue all" just pva glue? I can't find any reference one way or another and my old pva just ran out. If anybody has alternate brand recommendations (I'm in california) I am open to suggestion!

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

I've heard it's the same, never used GW glue. I use Elmer's for basing.

I like using Aleene's Original Tacky Glue. It seems really strong.

Makes no difference. For convenience's sake I just buy the GW stuff, though I do think that I am overpaying at times....

You can buy a gallon of Elmers at Lowes or Home Depot for about $14.

I use Elmer's Glue All extensively for basing and, coupled with pins, for foam. Others use wood glue or Aleene's Tacky, which are all PVA, as well, with slightly different formulations, by brand. All work, some are just slightly better suited to different tasks (I've heard that the tacky stuff is great for foam and plaster construction, for example). Honestly, unless you run out of glue while modeling at a GW store, there's really no reason to buy their PVA. It's simply generic product that's been re-branded, anyway. Considering the fact that you can pick up a suitable, if not actively superior, alternative almost anywhere (drug stores, supermarkets, and convenience stores almost always have some Elmer's in stock, craft and home improvement stores have more specialized types) at significantly lower cost, it seems far less justifiable, to me, than something like a pin vice that may be, for some, harder to source. So yes, by all means grab yourself a bottle of Elmer's Glue All.

I'm a fan of elmers too. I use it for basing and terrain making. Its availability is a plus too.

Aleen's or other tacky craft glues are my favorite as they are indeed tackier than other PVA's. However, often I just get whatever's at hand or cheapest, be it elmers, off brand white glue, wood glue, etc.

The one brand I don't buy is GW. Some of their tools are nice, but there's no reason whatsoever to pay GW prices for PVA, superglue, hobby vice (plastic piece of crap!), green stuff or a pin vice.
