To the OP, you should have a doctor look at that palp on your face, man.

Are we sure that the Heavy Bolter error wasn't on purpose by a vengeful editor or game designer?

Perhaps the degeneration of man's knowledge since the golden age of technology has advanced another step with the latest edition of 40k.

Now as well as not knowing how to build anything, fix anything or even know how a lightswitch works, humanity has started to forget what things actually do.

First Sister of Battle: Is this a heavy bolter?

Second Sister of Battle: No, I'm pretty sure that's a hairdryer...or a multimelta...no, wait...it's a hairdryer, I'm sure.

Tbh, I don't think many people at GW even know how to play their own game.

These are the same guys who, in the SM Codex, recommend that you take one of each heavy weapon on your Devastator Squad for 'versatility'.

It's quite possible that this is a result of their success. Many companies in the gaming sector - Blizzard, Bioware come to mind - turn from being a cool bunch of likeminded geeks with a garage hobby into a megacorporation headed by lawyers and former bank managers when they grow larger, especially once shareholding and investors become part of the philosophy. Naturally, this also has an effect on the product in that it may end up "missing the love" (or at least some of it). It's like a curse.

Maybe I'm just too negative/nostalgic, but this is how I feel when comparing the "now" to the "back then".

I just meant if the white dwarf codex came out and everything was correct and it was a great codex.
