Hi there !

I have been reluctant for a while to post my minis there, mainly because this is more of a 40k forum when I'm more of a Whb person, and because keeping too many paintings blogs can be quite tiresome, but since there's quite a few Whb plogs too, and I used the swap shop section a few times to sell my ebay minis, I though I'd give back with pretty pictures So here goes.

First, the context :

since money's being tight at the moment, I've decided to go back to painting for £££ for a while. I have a few minis piled up from past buying sprees, but on this plog I'll mostly concentrate on newer stuff, and surf on the "novelty" wave to get a fair price on ebay, so expect a lot of GW recent products I'll probably go for a little older but good central pieces too ( as in giants / screaming bells and the like).

And the pics :

Orcs & Goblins Arachnarock #1:

Orcs & Goblins Arachnarock #2:

Tomb kings Necrosphinx :

Tomb kings Warsphinx :

The two together, for good measure :

Tomb kings Warsphinx #2 :

And the more recent stuff, from SoM :

Dark elf sorceress, of wich the auction is ending today :

And two WIPs :

Chaos sorcerer :

And the Dark elf Dragon at its current state, close to being finished :

Here, ope you liked some of this stuff

You see that one guy in the shady glasses, driving the shady van? I'm across the street from him.

I, sir, applaud thee, for many jobs VERY well done.

Are you doing commissions, too?

Dude, these are awesome! You shouldn't hesitate to post here on Dakka. There are quite a few of us that really appreciate the random departure from 40k armies here and there, and this is definately worth showing off. Thanks for sharing your minis.

Thanks ! I've checked back on my ebay profile, and it looks like it has been 3 and a half monthes since I've started selling these for ebay. I've been painting other stuff at the same time, but for some reason I feel like I've been ebaying these minis forever

And this reminded me that I forget to post my abomination; that kinda started it all, it was my ebay test mini here :

Thanks ! Well, I always have a few commissions running around, not more than a couple at a time though. I don't promote my painting service anywhere, I just check on the demands I get from time to time, and If it's interesting (or worth it) I'll do it. So it's a yes and no :p

Thanks ! I'm glad I did post here; I'll keep up as long as I can

So... the sorceress went for 29£. Not bad, I would have expected a bit more but it's still worth it, depending on my painting speed of course.

Annnnnd the dragon is done Up on ebay as of tonight.

Now that this big guy is out of the way, I went to work a bit on the chaos sorcerer :

I'm not happy with its current state. I'll probably rework the gold to kill more of the shine, and maybe paint the red parts in blue instead, for better contrast. Anyway, I'll figure it out... I hope

Really impressive work how do you do the glossy creepy eyes on the Aracnarok's?

He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Thanks ! The spiders have been done a long time ago, but ... it was probably black mixed with a blue color for a dark blue, then more teal for the first highlights, then bleached bone, for the final highlights. And a coat of gloss varnish

So, I've done an airbrush round on the manticore and chimera; nothing fancy, it is still pretty rough, but here goes ( sorry about the blurry pics, was in a hurry ) :

The chaos sorcerer is finished; I just noticed the pics are a bit small... I'll arrange that later :s

I kept with the red since I've been advised to a few times, you included :p but i reworked it to be a bit more "fiery". I also worked on the gold. I can definitely live with how the mini is now

Thanks. It varies, and depends and greatly on the monster I'm painting, but I'd say probaly between 10 and 20hours for the longest ones ( stuff like the Arachnarok actually takes a bit of time because of the howdah and crew, actual spider is pretty quick to paint).

NecronBender wrote:I like your painting style very very much! And your color choice seems impeccable!

Ok.. Got bigger pics of the chaos sorcerer, so I updated the last post.

Here's the coolminiornot link.

It will probably go on ebay tonight.

I also Started work on the manticore, mainly brushwork on the skin, and the various claws. Wings not touched yet.

I also did a good chunk of work on the Manticore. Finished most of the skin, fur and claws/teeth, I still need to work on some details, and the wings. Can't see much on the pics unfortunately though :(. It should be finished by tonight or tommorrow.

My jaw is going to be dragging on the floor for the next week! O_o I wish I could paint like that but my lack of ability to sit still for long and my severe lack of patience gets in the way. Guess I'll just live vicariously through your thread.

Thanks for sharing btw!

That's quite some time. Is it really worth it to sell those fanatstic miniatures for this price (which are really low considering the hours of work)?

That sorcerer looks great. I like everything you did with it.
The small details, like the half star on the robe, are superb.

If I had a REMOTE need for it, I'd be bidding on it.

The Chimera is coming out really nicely, too. I'm really liking the color on the wing "leather" so far.

Ok... taking this topic back from the grave, I've been busy finishing a few late commissions so I didn't paint much of my ebay stuff, but it's all done now

A painting challenge over on the warhammer forum motivated me to dust off a few non-gw minis, and I settled on an hell dorado one.I planned to take step by step pictures, but ended up finishing it in one sitting.... so all you'll get are bonus primed and basecoated pics

I revived back this topic to post the pics since It will probably go on ebay once it is finished (missing the base atm), feel free to pm If you want it before it makes it there !

So, Tarik's finished and based :

And I went back on my manticore, this was to be finished a looooong time ago along with a few more SoM stuff, but commissions and real life got in the way.

I mainly worked on the riders, just need to finish one wing now; then it's basing and a few details to call it finished.

I've worked on a couple more pieces from the HellDorado range, from the same faction as tarik :

A Djinn (this one just needs to be based) :

And a pillar of faith : ( much more work needed on this one )

Ok; this is not going for ebay, but as keeping two separate painting logs on here would be tiresome, I'll just post of the rest of my work here

I've been painting a skaven army for a while, and I came back to it a few days ago;

Sorry for the avalanche of pics(many of these are still in wip stage starting with a group shot :

And I'll end this with the recent WIP, a plague furnace : it's missing a couple more painting sessions before I can call it finished

Not much to show this time that hasn't been previously shown; a few of the minis need some basing before I take the finished pics...

I did the finishing touches on the clan rats and plague monks (mainly a few highlights and the command groups), and completed the IoB warchief.

Sorry about the poor light/quality of the pics, I'm still messing with the lighting trying to get somethin better.
