Note to mods: I don't know if this post should be here or in the painting/modelling forum, please move if so...

Don't recall exactly how popular the game VOID was, but it had a decent range of miniatures and vehicles when it was in print... the company that made it has released an updated version (see my post here for details: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/30/369662.page but anyways, about the old miniatures... just head to your FLGS and ask if they have some dusty inventory that they haven't sold in years sitting in a storage room, you'd be surprised at what they might have... I went to my FLGS and asked the owner if I could root through the storage room and found these gems, got a great deal too, $5 per pound of metal and I walked out of there with 20 pounds! He was just glad they were going to a good home and freeing up some space and making a couple bucks off of stuff that would probably never sell... and there are plenty of sales going on ebay and other online vendors...

Space Marine shown for comparison...

Like others I will keep track of spending (starting May2011):
GW Models $2730 (new mat)
GW Books $600
BL Books $260
GW Supplies $195

Good God, I haven't seen those in forever!! I had that whole group until my BB gun decided to go hunting for greens....

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I've got a bunch of VOID stuff I got for a euro a blister at a con years ago. I made them into Enforcers for necromunda. They have some nice models. Perhaps slightly small for 40K, but that's only because everyone in the Imperium is on steroids.

On a similar note, there are alot of very cool minis out there from alt providers. Some of the DUST Tactics and Infinity stuff is awesome enough.

Somewhere in south-central England.

In the UK seaside resort towns there are often these great shops that sell all kinds of beach tat like bucket and spade, float rings and all sorts of cheap toys for the children.

They usually have Chinese rip-offs of Airfix 1/32 scale plastic soldiers, pantographed down to about 1/40 scale. You can buy a bag of 50 for £1 sometimes.

Combat Storm is a set of rules for playing with such figures.

http://www.combatstorm.com/

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
