Notes: Lv 2 will be with RxB's and BSB will be with Warriors. I'm using Eternal Flame because he likes to give his guys regen buff.
Also, I was just thinking of dropping the CoK's since they tend to become stupid when I need them...adding a chariot and shades. In the games I have played so far, 5 Shades have been my best unit.

Taking two Hydras to a 2000pt army in 8th edition does not make you a bad person. One of them will inevitably get stuck against a giant block of something or eat a warmachine shot early on. Further, RBTs are pretty bad in 8th, especially at 100pts a pop.

Not many people will hate you for having a second hydra.
The bolt throwers are only worth it if you are going up against brets other than that way too expensive since most core units (the ones you need to deal with) are high in number and low in armor.

Be careful if he is not a very nice man he will make sure your lvl 4 does not leave the game without exploding once.
Does he have a good ward? Since hellcannons can splat you.

This seems a little few troops.
You have to realize even if you get him down to 10 warriors and they are in cc with your unit they will maul you.
He will not win with ranks and fancy things he has to win cc with kills pretty much and that he will do.
So be careful.
I would say maybe full rank of knights since that could disrupt his ranks giving you a chance to not get destroyed in cc.

I'll hate you for running 2 hydras but then, who the hell am I that you should care?

Personally 35 is a bit much for spearmen, 25 does fine and gives you points for more RXB's.

It does seem like few troops but perhaps I've just gotten used to 2500 point lists.

The only thing I really question is the Hydra banner. I just wonder if its really worth it on spearmen - especially sense your probably going to wind up in a challenge and get killed - even the warriors unit champ has a good chance at it.

I would give him more protective gear personally.
