Alright so heres a list I quickly wrote up for what I think I'm going to do for the next themed Chaos army after my Slaanesh. As always, I'm trying to keep it at a fluffy stand point and that will ultimately be the deciding factor in what I choose to do, though I am not going for a pushover list. And no, there won't be a Chosen Death Star. My Slaanesh army is already running a large amount and I don't want to be TFG so I'm just going to leave em out this time.

So I might have stolen cowpows character builds... I quite liked them. Other than that I just tried to get a fair amount of magic in the list and make the blocks all durable. I know Marauders aren't necessarily the best with shields, but since their MoT the 5+ in combat will make them alot more durable and hopefully stay around for a turn or two until a Warrior unit can lend some support. I'm sure this list has got to be flawed in some way since I drew it up so quickly, so please citique it!

Maybe switch the banner of wrath for the razor standard.

Also maybe change conjoined for a disc.

Other than that noice

I would swap a unit of warriors for knights for hitting the flank when the marauders or warriors tie up whatever they are fighting.

Thats all I would change, you have plenty of anvil units and the hellcannon can either shoot or help you out in combat.

But chaos knights a horrid for their points...

Id go for a disc on your lord, and what does TFG mean?

Agreed no knights and maybe a disc rather than the gift.

That is what is worrisome, to me atleast.

Well your mage is fyling around somewhere out of BSB range...my mage is kicking it and having a beer with my bsb...soo I underplay the drawbacks to stupidity

See my main point is he can and should be able to shrug off a cannon ball or so but he should get out of rang soon enough so it dosnt happen again.
That and when you are sitting behind the enemy its easy to throw around magic.
Also if they decided to deal with him you have a great charge opportunity haha.
Still I have failed panic tests with re rolls on ld 8 and 9 so yea a stupid caster is not too great especially with that many points in him.

I think the list is rock-solid, but I would've liked to see some knights, too. As it is, you're going to be one hell of a brick army to smash through, but have no manueverability to speak of.

I like the marauders with shields for the lists' theme, and I'd run them deep and only 5-wide to make them even more survivable. It should take an opponent a while to hack through that many marauders!

I'm not sold on the disc... but it would allow your blocks to go up and get into combat without worrying about losing your wizard in the fray. The only problem with the disc is now he's cannon-bait, as there are no other real targets other than your rares... with his 3+ ward he should be fine, and I've been surprised how long my disc characters tend to survive, but imho a smart opponent will risk their luck on downing him sooner rather than later. Not a reason not to take the disc, but something to keep in mind.

(Also, will you use the new disc that's coming out, I think with a herald on top for DoC in August? Or do you have an OOP one / conversion in mind?)

My disc has only gone down once on a fact of my opponent not stating the facing of a skrimisher unit.

With the charmed shield the ward save etc he eats cannon balls and turn 2 he is in the back field with very little to worry about.

And if He miscastsand decides hey let's explode he dosnt kill those 16+ point warriors.
