Ok this weekend I am playing a 2K game against DE with my Nids, His list is going to be

3 Haemonculus with Hex rifles, venom blades and stinger pistols
4 groups of 5 warriors, 4 with splinter Rifles, 1 with blaster, all on venoms with 2 splinter Cannons
3 groups of 4 Trueborn with 4 blasters in venoms with cannons, led by the 3 Haemonculus so they get FNP
3 groups of 5 Scourges, 3 with shard Carbines, 2 with Blasters
3 ravagers

He will deploy everything and he never moves more then 6 inches (wants to make sure his guys on transports can shoot) That's how he always plays anyways

I was thinking of a null deployment list, something like:
4 groups of Devilgaunts in pods
2 groups of 3 hive guard, walking on
1 DoM in pod ( our local game house rule says doom affects troops in open top vehicles)
Was also thinking of a flyrant with hive commander DS'ing in. I still have a lot of points to play with.
I could use any advice on this one. His list looks really brutal on paper and I need to come up with a good counter.

Thanks

The main problem with Hive Guard is he can easily outrange you at 36". Walking on is probably a really bad idea. I'd get some Tervigons in there for FnP. Focus on shooting.

You're fortunate he isn't playing aggressive (as he should be moving forward to get all his Blasters / Splinter Rifles into range). Putting a Haemonculus with each Trueborn unit is a complete waste.

Stun the ravagers and then move on stunning the transport; If you destroy anything bonus.

It's worth noting that Venom and heavy venom cannons are actually quite useful. Lots of Open top vehicles so you're not going to have the minus modifier.

I don't think starting in reserves is the best bet as you run a very real risk of being taken apart as your forces arrive in dribs and drabs.

12 Devourer shots should put anything down.
