I have been building up my ork forces, but haven't really solidified my list. I had a basic 1500 point i used for friendly/semi-competitive games then threw together a 2000 point one quite hastily when I had to match a 2000 point imperial guard. My orks got shot down before I could even reach my opponents figures. Basically, I'm looking for a viable list for semi-competitive games.

Thraka (225)

Weird Boy
-Warphead (85)

6 nobs
-1 painboy
-6 cybork bodies
-6 'eavy armour
-5 big choppas
-2 shoota/rokkit
-3 twin-linked shoota (260)

16 boyz
-1 nob (powerklaw)
-whole mob turned to 'ardboyz (185)

15 boyz
-1 nob (powerklaw) (125)

10 Lootas (150)

5 Deffkoptas
-5 buzzsaw
-2 twin-linked rokkit (320)

Trukk
-red paint job
-armour plates
-wreckin' ball (60)

Battlewagon
-Killkannon
-red paint job
-armour plates
-kannon
-2 rokkits
-2 big shootas (205)

6 Killa Kans (didn't get a good chance to fight)
-6 kustom mega blaster
-6 armour plates (390)

Total: 2005

After looking at some of the builds on here I notice that everyone uses a ton more boyz so I could put more points into that. I don't have my heart set on using a certain unit so all suggestions are welcome.

Drop the Armor Plates form the Kanz. They don't do anything when they're in squads.

One 'Wagon is a bad idea. I'd go all trucks, all wagons, or neither and run everything behind 9 Kanz.

- Imperial Fists - 7290
- Deathskulls - 6150

I see. What about an army that is not mech heavy, or is that not able to be done?

Orkz can go non mech for sure, A Green Tide army has a crap load of boyz mukk'n about! Start with your Warboss (Thraka) & 4 maxed out squads of 30 boyz (each with a Nob w/ PK & BP) Your now at 121 models on the board! From there you can add practically anything to increase the size of the horde... a fully tricked out Nob squad (or 2), Lootas, Burnas, & Kommandos (w/ Snikrot) and ofcorse the awesome Big Mek (w/KFF) are all awesome ways to grow your green tide!

Now going by your list posted, you do seem to have the start of a Kan Wall army, though you will need more boyz (get up to 90), a big mek (or 2)(w/kff), 3 more kanz & some lootas to get the ball rolling nicely!
Oh and keep 3 of the Koptas (with buzzsaw's & twin linked rokkits)

Search around Dakka for some Green Tide & Kan Wall Lists for some inspiration!
Also... if you are liking the trukks & battlewagons... a Wagon Spam list can be fun to, they can be fast n dirty and will get you into the fight right away! Search for a few of those lists as well to get an idea!

As always, read the BRB and your Codex to familiarize yourself with the rules & your army, see what can & can't be done with Da Orkz... trust me, you won't be dissapointed!
Most of all... have fun!

The Weird Boy will be hit or miss each game, a Big Mek with KFF will perform better for your list

The Boyz squads are a little small to be foot sloggin

Break the Lootas in to squads of 5, if you kill the target with the fist squad then you can move on to a new target, if not, use the second to finnish the job I run 3 squads of 5

If you do run the Battlewagon, run it with a deffrolla

I like Grotzookas on my Killa Kans

Good Luck!
