Wrote this up to help friends practice for Ardboyz and maybe compete...it's based on stuff I've actually got. Don't feel like buying new minis for Ardboyz. Anyway:

Thanks for the reply, disagree with most of the suggestions though.
Reducing # of SWs in a CCS is never a good idea. Vets need the Autocannons for Dark Eldar MSU, and PGs for Terminators. Melta is an afterthought here. Infantry blob is here to fulfill a role that Vets cannot: bubblewrap. Basically, certain things are included to deal with specific problems that Guard have with specific armies. 6 squads of Melta Vets don't really help me very much against DE MSU or Horde armies.
Don't worry, every Chimera has a Heavy Flamer.
I'd prefer to run 3 Medusae to the 2 Demolishers but I don't have 3 Medusae, and probably won't have them by next week!

I would personally make one CCS the "suicide" squad the the other your Order Chimera. I would kit one out with 4xPG instead of MG, put both the OotF and Astro in it and give them a Chimera. I would then make one of your vet squads 3xMG and put them in the Vendetta. That way you have orders for both your suicide units and also one in the back just in case you need them later in the game.

Read above, make one pure MG and put it in the vendetta. I would then make 2 of the remaining squads 3xPG/1xAC/Chimera. Last would be 3xMG Chimera.

Blob squad is a bit small. I think 31 men should be the minimum with a PW and MG in each, plus commissar w/ pw.

I don’t agree with everything 123 and grix stated. But some points of my own.
1) buy chimeras for your CCS, IMHO they are the bread and butter of Mech IG. You can always use a couple more ML/HF. And if you feel you need to drop your melta from a bird you still can.
2) I like keep my vets uniform, melta w/ melta and plasma w/ plasma. If you want to run AC use them in your plasma squads. But this will force them to be defensive, I prefer running people down.
3) your IP looks very out of place. This unit defies one of the points to a mech vet list, it give something for your opponents small arms to shoot at. Any thing str 6 or less will be pounding in to these guys every turn till they start to open your cans up.
4) yep vendettas are good.
5) PBS don’t need to be str 9, you should stick to ether 6 or 8. 6 gives a good reduction on Ld and still wounds most troops on a 2+, 8 gives you better reduction on Ld, wounds most modals on a 2+, will ID most IC and deathstars (short TWC) and can be used as light anti tank. IMHO there really isn’t much other choice then 8 but 6 is an option if you are looking to shave points.
6) Marbo, man I love this guy, but there are better options for these points, as well you need to keep in mind he is an easy kill. Making his cons out weigh his pros in 2 of the 3 scenarios.
7) Manticores rock, Hydras are very good, demos not so much. I do agree medusas are far better here but you don’t have them so I wont push it. I would fit in a 2ed manticore here. You get your str 10 large blasts, and you get to spend your points on more ”melta wielding chimera vets with heavy flamers.” but in all seriousness, spend the points on transports for your CCS and one more melta vet or PBS. There are also places in your list that can be outfitted to max your points a bit better. For example you only have 2 vendettas, this is the most point efficient unit in the codex put in a 3ed. Even as LR are concerned the LRBT is a better buy then your demo for this list. But it demolishers are your only choice I would drop one all together and leave the plasma sponsons at home. These guys need to keep moving, plasma keeps it from happening and the squadrons only leaves you open to loose a lot of points on a bad shooting phase.

I have to agree with Komosunder on most points... I will expand to drive the point home.
1) Can't fire the melta from the Vendettas untill they are dropped. Unless your Outflanking the Vendettas (and Marbro) for 3 units, the Astropath loses effectiviness and worth. You have a Platoon, the PCS and a SWS are really better put to use in the Vendettas to make them scoring, all armed with flamers to burn out cheap scoring units from objectives. Either buy Chimeras or get Camo cloaks with a AC or Lascannon. I would seriously consider Creed and Kell for Orders.
2) I partially agree, as I don't care for the mix on vet squads. If you want to do this, Sentries are cheaper than a Chimera and your troops are actually more surviviable due to each of them not taking a wound when the Chimeras blow up. 3x plasma guns and ACs make a better camping units. Throw Harker in one and you get a Vet squad with two heavy weapons.
3) Here I disagree, specially if this is a defensive bubble squad to protect your heavys. I will note your Commissar can not have Melta bombs, only sergeants. I do say get every sergeant a melta bomb though. I would also throw in 2x ACs and 2x Melta guns for long range fire power (since they are camping) and you give you defence from Drop pod Dreads and the like. I really can't see this as an assault unit in this list, but if you drop all the Chimeras, a second power blob will give you two attacking forces to drive opponents from objectives, with Sentry Vets and HWSs holding your rear.
4) Vendettas are indeed good. But I feel this is the better place for the PCS and say a SWS all armed with flamers. You don't care if they die because they are incredibly cheap and they do make your vendettas scoring and can also burn out crappy scoring units camping objectives (Scouts, Rangers, Gretchen, ect).
5) PBS is neat and all, but a lone squad stands out as a target. I honestly suggest dropping them or getting two of them... and you just do not have the points for two.
6) Marbo will 90% of the time kill his points plus... I say keep him. Marbro alone is not worth a Astropath.
7) Drop the plasma sponsons from the Demolishers. If you move, you can shoot your Demolisher cannon and a single other weapon. Your really just better off with a base HB and use them as anti-infantry units. The other thing I don't like is having to squadron them up because they have to fire on the same taget. Same goes with your Hydras... you will only need two in a squadron. If your looking for anti-infantry or transport poppers, your better off getting a AC HWS or two, specially with Creed. I am honestly considering just ditching the Demolishers and saying you should get more Manticores.
I think the main problem is I just fail to see the need for Chimeras in the list. The few you have moving forward are just to few to really threaten your foe and are easy targets. Yours really making a gunline list so I would stick to it.
You really need to re-organise your heavy slots to support what your doing with your troops. If your doing gunline, drop the Demolishers and get more Manticores. If your assaulting (either power blob or mech vets), drop the Manticore and get 2 Demolishers and keep them seperate, each one pushing up 24" from each side.
I know what I am saying is alittle confusing, but I hope it gives you some food for thought. Good luck!
