I wonder if the stasis vault holds an STC .Rules of Engagement that the codex was never to be interpreted so narrowly as to replace all original thinking. And I read somewhere on Dakka that Calgar himself said that blind adherence to the codex made them predictable (I think it was after Honsou or whatever his name was attacked Ultramar).
