Wolf Guard Bodyguard in Terminator Armor

Hi guys,

The hull of my Thunder Hawk is nearly done and I am going to be mounting the wings soon. There isnt enough resin to pin and the parts are rather heavy so I fear superglue wont be up to the task. Any ideas on strong bonding glue that would work?

so you can't pin then, I was going to suggest that
gorilla glue has a strong bond (and I mean strong because that stuff is meant for furniture) but it takes a long time to dry and it would be extremely hard to undo the wing if you ever wanted to in the future

When working with resin and I want to glue it to more resin, I usually put a layer of super thin glue followed by a very thin layer of green stuff followed by another layer of super thin glue....it allows for a strong bond, and i can easily take it off in the future if i need to work on it.
it should go something like this.

Resin Part > super thing glue > green stuff > super thin glue > resin part

Mostly, on my phone.

I agree with sakrileg; another good trick is to score the surfaces to be bonded first. And/or, use milliput. Hey, that even fixes holes in submarines whilst underwater.

Make sure the surface is clean and a bit roughened up (file). I then use 2 part epoxy glue (5 minutes to hold). Holds better than super glue but can't do miracles if the weiight is too strong for the bonding surface.

Two part epoxy.

Doesn't so much glue stuff as it sets hard as a rock. Roughly sand where you are glueing, apply the epoxy to both surfaces. Things such as nails can be inserted into the wet epoxy to add strength.

If you find too runny to use, keep poking it with a tooth pick until it becomes think enough, just be careful as it may start to start congealing quickly. Despite how think you put it on it will still harden all the way though.

There are varying types and dry times, I suggest a standard 5 minute epoxy (turns think in 5 minutes rather then dry in 5 minutes), and it can be found at most craft, hardware and hobby stores. It's called two part epoxy because it comes in two tubes you mix.

Don't ever do this..the Green stuff never dries...the Super glue seals it so the GS doesn't dry. I have seen it done and its bad. After a year we found a model that someone did like that and the Green stuff was still plyable. Bad idea!

JB Kwik is the best two part epoxy out there for modelling use. Pin the joint if possible and cover the pin and mating areas with JB Kwik. Hold in place for 5 minutes and you are done.

Cheers guys looks like I can get JB Kwik in the UK without an issue, Holding the wing isnt a problem as I can prop it up on things so it doesnt droop whilst setting.
