How did you meet your significant other?
I guess we label ourselves as nerds/geeks/socially inept at times yet i've noticed a lot of us have partners. So obviously we did something right! Maybe this thread could help out the lonely souls with our stories? (and if you're happily single then just enjoy the read!)
I met my significant other when she was a dance instructor (me being the n00b student).
She is still an instructor and we've been together for almost 6 years and have 2 kids. I had no idea at the time when we first started dating that she was a covert nerd and was right into gaming and fantasy as well as the 40k scene. It's funny that i thought i had zero chance with her at the time and so forgot all about trying to seduce her. Seems as though she found that rather nice for a change.
...it also helped that i was (and still am) dashingly handsome...
At a bbq/NYE party thrown by a mutual friend and SF fan back in 1988 or so.
We've been together for 11 years, and married for 5 this Friday (5th Aug). I knew she liked SF and didn't seem to mind gamers as the party host was also both.

For me it was Match.com We emailed a ton, then met at a irish pub restaurant place, and now at the end of the month we'll be having our 3 year anniversary.. dating anniversary, not married yet :p
Current SO I met at work in February. I labeled her a minor conquest and didn't think much of it, flirting from time to time. A couple months later I was in a relationship with another girl that lasted a lone 2 weeks because aforementioned SO invited me to get drinks with her and her girlfriend. We ended up hooking up while her girlfriend went to bed. It just sort of grew from hooking up to both of us uber sluts realizing there were actually feelings there too. We're somewhat open now just because we still have that bug, but I've literally never been more satisfied with someone at any point than her right now.
Worship me.

The previous (and only) SO I had met in ILS class. Since it was the last period of the day and we normally left the class room at the same time I thought it'd be fun to have some conversation.

Kept in touch through email/chatroom but only really found we had feelings when a bunch of us online organised a meet up which led to the two of us meeting for the first time.
That will be 7 years this November, been married 4 years in September.
Met mine while working at a burger joint. She'd come in specifically when I was working to watch me, and it only took me 2 months to get the hint and ask her out. I thought she just liked the food... Been together 9 years with a two year break in the middle. Two kids now too.... Jesus....

Met at an OU Residential course. She flirted and I just missed all the signs. Come the last night her mates basically said stop being a gakker, this girl likes you.
Cue a long night, a sleepy final presentation with knowing smirks all round.
We met on Project Rockstar (I don't know if anyone played this but it was a music management game where you managed "bands" and produced records and so on) and she pursued me mercilessly (in the best possible way ) for several years until I married her
I met my beloved a while back at a-kon, and I never regretted it. We've been together almost 4 years. Not many women would ever consider loving someone like me, since I'm not what you'd consider normal. I'm at a point that if I lost her, I don't know what I'd do. She does a lot for me, and I love having someone to share clothes with.

The majority of my ex's ( Including two ex wives) I met at Clubs and Bars ( mostly after my band had played)...
..My current Missus I met through mutual friends.
I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

Met her through a friend at his kid's birthday party. She was the most fun/friendly girl there.
Gotten her into a dark eldar army. She didnt like eldar - crappy looking. Tau - too anime. Imperial/SM - too human. necrons - too robot. tyranids - why?
Simply put, my brother the giant wanted to sleep with this chick he worked with. His car was broke down and needed a ride. The chick he wanted to shag, didnt HAVE a car, and so needed her room mate to drive her. We were stuck together in the living room while Giant and chick went and did the nasty in the next room. Awkward moments later we liked each other
