I was always a vodka man back when I used to drink. Never liked the smell or taste of beer, cider etc.

I actually home brew a little too, but have been known to be lazy and augment that with various beers. I tend to drink stuff like yuengling light if I'm going to have more than 1 or 2 but will drink something like Sam Adams Cream Stout or Guiness if only having 1 or 2...

I don't really have a favorite. All beer can be good under the right conditions.

There's FAR too many excellent beers to choose just one all the time.

The one I drink the most would have to be Old Style. Not that it's particularly good, but the only options at Cubs games are Old Style, Bud, and standing in line missing the game for a Heineken.

But, when I'm not feeling adventurous and just want a familiar beer I typically choose Goose Island 312.

Moosehead. Despite being Canadian, probably one of the best beers for casual drinking. Not too watered down, not too hoppy.

Although if I'm trying to impress people, I order Spaten.

Guinness.

I also love 'honey' or 'golden' ales like Otter, Abbott, Gem etc.

I also regularly drink and love (as dakkacon attendees will confirm...) Gin and Tonic, but only Bombay Sapphire or Hendricks Gin.

Guinness would be my 'available almost anywhere' beer, Labatt Blue would be my cheap 'available everywhere' beer (plus its my hockey beer)
Good local microbrews would be my preferred beer (I'm not picky, and I like sampling more creative artisanal beers rather than drinking gakky industrial crap out of a can), with my favorite currently being Brown's Cherry Raspberry Ale out of Browns Brewing Co. in Troy, NY (near Albany), also a fan of Ommegang Rare Vos, amongst others.

I am going to have to try some beer from these guys:

http://blackacrebrewing.com/home/

simply because awesome stuff happens if you click "I Am Under 21" (try it). I reward creativity

The only experience I've had with booze was when I was twelve (oh quiet all of you, its not like that)

My dad and his friend were drinking Bud Lights in the garage and I came out there to see what they were doing, I asked them what they were drinking and my dad shoved his bottle at me thinking I'd take a swig, instead I took a gulp...and nearly puked...

stuff tasted like liquid gak... -shrugs- perhaps I'll have more pleasant alcohol experiences when I come of age in a few years...

In your base, ignoring your logic.

From what I've tasted I prefer Yuengling over most of everything. Corona is swill and Bud Light is terrible, but I want to import a beer from Austria but not really for drinking.

There's a town called Fething and they decided to name a brew after it, its a light beer that they call Fething Hell.

What I drink most often:
McGolden Light (when in minnesota)
PBR
Guinness

Other things I like that I only get when I buy for home:
Summit (really like the Finnigans. Also had most of their beer while at the brewery)
New Belgium (Skinny Dip and Fat Tire are my favorites)

I have 5 international beers to try at home, and one Bell's. Also have a few home brews here and there. I am still young so I am always good to try some new things.

There's a beer called Broadside? Knowing my luck with my Broadsides, not only would that beer probably fail to hit the spot, but i'd probably end up missing my mouth with it and spilling it everywhere everytime I went to take a sip.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Oh, well if we're bringing non-beer into the discussion, nothing can beat the overwhelming majesty that is Kraken Rum.

Ah, I love The Kraken! I mainly bought it for the bottle (i collect bottles for the bar at home), but it ended up being quite tastey
