Neophyte undergoing Ritual of Detestation

So I had a game where I was helping a new player to figure things out and got semi stumped by a situation that occurred. Grey Knights Vs. Grey Knights and he charged a unit of my purifiers with his terminators. His terminators had Psykout grenades (obviously) and I wasn't sure about how it should have affected my squad. My IC who was with them was obviously reduced to I1 because he's specifically a psyker but I wasn't sure how it should work with the actual squad.
My interpretation was that since psykout grenades specifically call out an effect on a psyker it would bring up the clause in the Brotherhood of Psykers rule where anything that affects a psyker is focused on the Justicar/Knight of the Flame or a random member of the squad if they're dead. Following this logic I did a random dice roll and one of my purifiers ended up I1 while the rest of the squad remained unaffected. This seemed the most logical line of reasoning to me but it didn't seem to be a really solid choice either way.
So, how do the rest of you play this? Does the whole squad go I1? Just the Justicar/Random guy?

the squad is a single psyker,as per brotherhood of psyjkers,so should be I1any bonus to I then come into play,ie Halberds.see tyhe FAQ to verify this.it uses lash whips as an example but the psyout would be the same situiation

Except halberds have no effect against I reduction. See the GK FAQ
THe Squad is a psyker, and as psykout grenades are NOT a psychic attack, BoP does not kick in and make the justicar an unhappy bunny (i.e. just him at I1) - so the whole squad is reduced to I1

I understand that according to Brotherhood of Psykers they are a single psyker, but then it also says that any attack that specifically targets psykers is resolved against the Justicar. So I guess this sort of comes down to whether the use of the Psykout grenades constitutes an attack or not as well.
*Edit
Was typing this as Nos answered, I can see how the grenades wouldn't count as an attack as far as the Brotherhood rule goes. All of them going at I1 was our initial reaction but the wording of Brotherhood of Psyker threw me off a bit. Perhaps another thing they should FAQ for clarity.

It isnt an attack; it shares absolutely no characteristics with anything considered an attack in 40k. None whatsoever

in a unit of paladins(no justicar)or PA squad with no justicar, powers are resolved throgh a random memberas are perils of the warp,so they would all have to be psykers.
BoP is for the purposes of culexeses in range don't get `1 per modal and daemonbane vs the squad(it would be 1 test per wound inflicted, not 1 per modal per wound.).

This I disagree with. Paroxsym reduces WS and BS of a target unit and it is most definitely an attack (a PSA).

but grenades arnt attacks if used against non vehicles.and not against vehcles unless they have declared they are attacking using greandes.psyout and frags simply take effect.
Paroxym is a PSA because its rules actually sday its a PSA that hits automatically.

I'm not stating an opinion 1 way or another...just pointing out that Psykout grenades do in fact have some similarities to a form of attack.

I think you missed the point. Nos stated that Psykout Grenades have NO similarities to an attack.
Paroxysm reduces a stat and is an attack.
Psykout grenades reduce a stat and may or may not be an attack (I have no solid opinion on the matter).
They both reduce a stat...whether or not the grenades count as an attack is something I will leave others to worry about.

To be clear I never stated grenades are or aren't an attack. I merely showed that Psykout grenades have similarities to something that is an attack...which is why I said I disagreed with Nos' post.
I'm not arguing. I'm not really involved in this thread. I have no stake in whoever wins the argument. But making bold statements that are incorrect is not a good way to bring others into your line of reasoning.
That is all.
