Just an idea I came up with.

Thunderburst Missile

The Thunderburst missile is an extremely rare, expensive load for a standard Imperial Missile Launcher. Rather than the standard explosive penetration tip of a Krak Missile, or the shards of metal emitted by a Frag missile, the Thunderburst has a two-part head. The first head is a miniaturized Power Field, with a power that only lasts for a brief second, but long enough to cut through almost any armor with impunity. The second is a conventional frag load, which detonates once the warhead has penetrated the interior of the target, showering the crew with shrapnel and hopefully exploding the tank's components. The increased weight of the missile, however, means a much shorter flight distance. The missile also takes significant time to charge the power field before firing.

S: 9 AP: 2 Range: 36" Type: Heavy 1, Charge, Lance

Charge: You may, in any movement phase, declare that a model with a Thunderburst missile is charging that missile. The model, and its unit, may not move or assault in this turn, and the model with the missile launcher may not fire, though the rest of the unit can. In the controlling player's next Shooting Phase, the Thunderburst missile is fired as normal.

Any model with a Missile Launcher may take a Thunderburst Missile for an additional 15 Points.

The size of the army limits the number of Thunderburst Missiles you may take.

500 Points or Less: 1 Thunderburst Missile

501-1500 Points: 2 Thunderburst Missiles

1501-2500 Points: 3 Thunderburst Missiles

2501 Points or more: 4 Thunderburst Missiles

Apocalypse Games: 8 Thunderburst Missiles

But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

That is essentialy, the exact same as a dark eldar Void Lance.

Same Stats all round, except that the viod lance doesn't have the charge rule and is assualt one on a Flyer.

Also, add the One shot rule to it.

Why would you charge the missile?
Is it necessary, and if so, please say that in your side rules.

So what does charging it do exactly? You didn't say in its description.

I would say bump it to S10 Ap1, since this will give you a Penned LR 44% of the time assuming BS4 (20% chance for wrecking to occur), once per game (I'm assuming this is a one-shot) instead of 33% of the time (With a wreck chance of 11%). A small boost, but one that could be significant.

Imagine the feeling when you position your tanks, engines idling, landing gear deployed for a low profile, with firing solutions along a key bottleneck. Then some fether lands a dreadnought behind them in a giant heat shielded coke can.

Sounds reasonable.
