I have 2 modded deffdreads that are as high as a Battle Wagon (modded, never bought a real deff dread).

The body is pretty high and they ahve long legs, so you can see "threw it". If I put the deffdread in front of a Battle Wagon (front armor facing dread), it is as high, and the body is as larger as the BW but you can see the BW between the legs (2'' up and at least 1,5'' wide). IMO, that is enough to be able to shoot at the BW giving it a 4+ cover save.

Would that be considered Modding to advantage (I never owned a GW deff dread) sicne you can still see the BW and so shoot at it, but the dread gives him a cover save (obscured)?

I would say it is a far stretch for a stock deff dred to give a stock BW 50% coverage and making it obscured.

If your deffdred is big enough to do it, then I would say it is modeling as advantage and should pretend to not give it as the real one in most circumstances would not.

Even front armor??

On the side, I never gave a cover though.

I would need some pics to be sure, but I wouldn't say it is MFA if it fits some criteria:

Be impartial here!
1)Does it look 'cool'? If so, it is legal.
2)Is it obscenely bigger or just looks like it was made from a LR vs a Rhino? Looting will make various parts show up, after all.

If it fits either, preferably both, of the above, feel free to use it.

You could field them as Mega-Dreads if your opponent is ok with that.

Otherwise: Rule of Cool.

pics are gonna come in tonight,

One is made from a sentinel body, the other I dont recall exactly but the legs are aroundt eh same size of a sentinel. I'm just wondering if the GW deffdread gives cover to the BW if the deffdread is in front of the Front of the BW.

It depends on the build you use and what pose you have. The one I am painting now is the new model and it is a pretty solid wall of flailing arms. It would give my trukks cover on the front and maybe the side depending on distances. It might work for a BW front too.

The old metal one: not a chance.

The new plastic one stands as tall/taller than a stock bw, and is nearly as wide. I'd not be shocked if it could cover 50% from the right angle.

From a straight on front armor view, both of my official plastic dreads (in 2 very different poses) almost completely cover the front of a battlewagon, leaving just enough exposed to make it impossible for me to argue that someone could not take a shot at the wagon.

On that note, i would in no way complain about OP's modded dredd.

I've seen the newer dreads, huge. They'll easily give cover tovthe front of a battlewagon.

This. The current official model easily gives the BW cover from the front, so converting/building one which covers just as well is fine.

I would say not; as you don't appear to be gaining any advantage.

Nope.

They look about the right scale for the most recent dreads.
