I'm out of town and have no access to my rulebook:

Does a brood of zoanthropes just make one psychic test for all of their shooting (each round), or does each one test individually?

Whilst it doesn't say specifically how units of psykers work, the default psyker rules refer to the psyker as an individual. So unless your codex has a 'unit casting' rule (eg GK unit leaders), I'd go with each member rolling individually.

From the Tyranid FAQ on GW's site:

Q: When a Zoanthrope brood uses a psychic power, do
I need to take a Psychic test for each individual
Zoanthrope in the brood, or just one test for the whole
brood?
A: Each Zoanthrope in the brood must take a
separate Psychic test. Note that this means that a
wound caused by Perils of the Warp will be
allocated to the Zoanthrope that suffered the
attack.

I have found again and again that in encounter actions, the day goes to the side that is the first to plaster its opponent with fire. The man who lies low and awaits developments usually comes off second best. - Erwin Rommel

Yay, allocation of wounds to models within groups of identically armed models! One YMDC solved, another created

What new question? Casting different powers or one passing and one failing does not make them different.

The problem is that if you have a brood of three, and two suffer perils of the warp, the FAQ would seem to suggest that each individual zoanthrope that suffered Perils takes a single wound (although they do have a 3+ invulnerable that they could take, albeit with a forced re roll if successful), whereas the rules for multiple wound models would suggest that one Zoanthrope would take two wounds, since they are identically equipped.

Perils is more specific, same as Gets Hot! and Dangerous terrain 0 you CANNOT allocate these wounds.

Yep, the wound goes onto the affected model, not into an allocation 'pool' of wounds that you spread around or lump together.

Name your Zoes: Manny, Moe and Jack. Or Huey, Louie and Dewey if anyone remembers "Silent Running."

So, you point at the first Zoe, Manny, and roll.

Then you point at the Moe, and roll, etc.

That ought to take care of which one suffers the 'Perils.'
