I think this is a Tactics topic, but if need be can the Mods please redirect it.

I am thinking of starting an army of Mono-Khorne Daemons.I do not know all the upgrades or points but if someone with Daemons codex is willing to write out upgrades/points I would really appreciate it.

Here's what I'm thinking.BTW points don't matter.I don't drop upgrades to reduce points.I add up the total cost for the units, and if I'm a little over I allow my opponent the extra too.

HQ
Skarbrand
Skulltaker on Juggernaut
Herald of Khorne on Juggernaut, all possible upgrades.
Elites
8 Bloodcrushers,all upgrades,led by skulltaker
8 'crushers,all upgrades,led by Herald
8 bloodcrushers,all upgrades
Troops
6X16 bloodletters,all upgrades
Fats Attack
2X 16 Flesh hounds,all upgrades
15 flesh hounds,led by Karanak,who is modal number 16
Heavy Support
3X Daemon Princes, with mark of Khorne and all availible upgrades.

Thoughts and statergies please.Points if you can.

Before you say anything,NO,I will not include a non Khorne modal,or be changing anything for a cheaper option as points are nothing to me.The guy I will normally be playing them with is able to field up to about 15000pts of IG.This is for non Apoc games or non any game where there is no Force Org.

As a fellow Mono Khrone player for the longest time I can tell you a couple things. First you need to be kind of risky with your deepstrikes. Yeah they will get to shoot at you for a turn but you will be in assault range after that. I also found that you need some kind of ranged firepower if you want to be competitive at all. The 3 Khorne princes are pretty underwhelming. I had to switch to 3 soulgrinders to bring some ranged to the table. After awhile I started to mix in units from other gods and I have found success. Here is a pic of my army before I started adding other gods in.

Also the list of units you posted is pushing 3k points.

Personaly I would drop Skarbrand, and go with a normal Bloodthirster. The Flight ability is worth in IMO.

Flesh hounds are beasts (unit type, not prowess). They can Assault 12" and have Fleet. Since you are mono khorne, having Deathstrike is not a bad idea. In fact, it may still be a bad idea, but it causes you to not completely forsake shooting. This is assuming you don't take Soul Grinders, which can be considered Khorne if they are painted red.

Think of it this way. Flesh hounds move faster, need to tie up support squads. They are the weakest of all the khorne units, but are most expendable. Next, the Crushers and Daemon Princes should destroy the big targets, with princes hitting land raiders etc. Bloodletters should group up and go after weak targets, such as infantry. They do not have assault grenades, so they will take casualties if the enemy is in cover. Skarbrand should be deployed centrally to maximize the re-rolls. Also, consider him in wave 2 so the enemy doesn't get re-rolls if they counter assault you, and to take advantage of the icons in the first wave. Remember he also gives re-rolls when hitting vehicles, which is key because you have no anti tank outside of close combat except for 3 or 4 S7 shots that are expensive.

Skulltaker and his unit should be your anti-death star if you encounter one. They usually have multiple wound models, and he loves to eat those.

Also consider Skarbrand and another Bloodthirster instead of the two heralds. Better anti-tank and monstrous creature saturation. Also with S8, a bloodthirster can ID most troublesome models.

First,thanks for the comments.

I don't really want to take Soul Grinders, and simply paint them red. They are hideous modals in my opinion and far too expensive,£s wise

I will swap out Skarbrand.I thought he could fly.

I believe in the fortune favours the brave approach,so Deathstriking has no quams to me.Which leads to my unit composition, each squad has exactly 8 or 16 modals in it except for the HQs and HS.I believe this will grant me the Blood Gods favour.

Here is the Daemonic assault design.

Part 1
Herald,leading the 1st Bloodcrushers
3rd Bloodcrushers
3 squads of Bloodletters
1 normal Flesh Hounds packs
2 Princes

Part 2
Bloodthirster
Skulltaker,leadong the 2nd Bloodcrushers
3 squads of Bloodletters
Karanak's Pack
Normal Flesh Hounds
Prince

I want a fluffy force.Normally a Graeter Daemon flanked by 2 Heralds is a very fluufy force.

Skulltaker is a very beautiful modal. No way in Heaven,Hell or the warp is he going away.

With deathstrike,I have plenty of antitank MC experiance. My first army is Tyranids, and I have many deepstriking/outflanking units there,Flyrant,Carnifex in Mycetic Spore,Trygon Prme,Raveners,20 strong genestealers.I am accustomed to suicidal deepstriking.
