they know the rules and don't? They get it wrong almost everytime, it is like they have never read the rulebook. Yeah that's how my weekend game went.

Sorry to hear that. Make sure you know your rules, the BGB, and roll with the punches as they come.

Just needed to rant, I tend to only play him when he is the only one available.

One friend thought that you moved to the difficult terrain THEN take difficult terrain test. Hasn't read the rulebook and relies on other people to show him how the actual rule works. Another guy thought you could move over friendly units. Funny as when he tried to move his trukk over a Vindicator

Yeah i know a fair few people who don't seem to fully understand the way the rules work. Just lucky they're not in my immediate group of mates i guess

+1 to that. Its fun and all that we joke about how something crazy actually happened, but dammit, roll your dice! Also, if he isnt 100% sure hes sure, he pops open the rule book and looks, and looks.....and looks.....AND LOOKS for the exact specific rule hes trying to find. Most the time I just say, well lets play it this way just to keep the game moving along.

Knew an eldar player like that. Since I don't play eldar... it took ages to play a game.

I'm not always too familiar with the rules, especially if I am trying something new. I try not to be insistent that I know something, and I usually don't argue with people when they say I am wrong. I always try to act like I am the one with the problem, like "Oh, I didn't know that. Do you mind if I look it up real quick so I will know the exact wording in the future?" That way I don't seem like a douche.

That's what the rulebook is for. To *smack* reacquaint them with *smack* any rules issues.

I knew a girl who was adamant a Bloodthirster had 5 wounds, when I played her via Vassal once.

I said "Feth it" and played anyway.

Vaporised it with a single round of shooting using Flash Gitz (Trololo inorite who uses Flash Gitz?)

My last game of 40k was rough for me because I had been playing nothing but Flames of War for the previous 5 months in a league. Haha...talk about confused player!!

Yup, and funny thing is, I only got the BR rule book, he's got the BGB, it's ridiculous how many times we must explain to him how tanks die, or most assault phase related actions

Maybe he does not absorb information very well?

Was there a stunt ramp appropriately placed?

I cant stand people like that. They make 2-3 hour games into 4-5 hour games easily and every time they play.

heh my second round opponent was like that ... couldnt understand that barrage wouldnt allow most cover saves

He was also walking on the board edge on the short side saying it was his Deployment zone so he can ... -_-

I admit, I sometimes miss a few rules. particularly ones I don't use or see very often.

I had an IG player friend who had no idea how rending worked for that very reason. He couldn't fathom that my Psycannon's could actually penetrate his LRBTs from the front.

Sometimes i feel like i should just take the BRB, blend it with milk or water, and make the new guy drink every last drop of it and pray he gains the knowledge (and also a paper cut on his tongue) so he'll know everything!! But then i realize, that would be $60 i just blended up!!

To be fair, a lot of the rules are written very poorly.

Its like that had a five year old make up a game and they wrote it down as certain sections of the rules.
