Looking for an interesting way to paint my Grey Knights force weapons, thinking either green or blue, would be a nice contrast to the silver and red grey knights.
Any good examples / tutorials on how to go about painting them so they look like there glowing? I kind of fancy something with just the edges and pronounced areas glowing but I cant wet blend very well.
E.g Dark green centre and blended into a glowing green edge. Any ideas on how to do this / alternatives to standard lightning?

i do mine this way:
Start with Mithril Silver
then Heavy Wash with Azurmen Blue
Then Put slashes of Silver on the blade.
Heavy Wash Again
Slash again
then light wash
The wash color is your choice. It will look great. I can assure you. AN it will look much different then anything ou see in other peoples armies

I do something kind of easy, and it looks ok. Since I suck at painting, that means pretty good for me. I learned it at the painting clinic:
http://www.paintingclinic.com/clinic/paintgems.htm
(yes, I know it says paitgems.htm, but it works the same). Basically: lay down a coat of a enamal gloss chrome, then use any of the tamiya clear colors over it (I use blue). It turns out pretty decent. For gemstones/lenses/sensors, its near dang perfect - and its much quicker than the usual dozen steps you usually see.

Atm it looks like its going to be a crystal style sword of just go for plain green lightning.
All the really good looking tutorials use an airbrush :(

with advice like this you may as well pass on commenting. I'm sure google is the first thought in anyone's head when they think to search for something. No one needs to refer people to google.

It was the first thing i did tbh, but everything I found is either Lightningy or using an airbrush ( which I dont have ).
Seen this on annother tutorial and this is a similar idea to how I'd like mine.
