Are you going with a reserves-based army? If so, I'd suggest you dump the 2 primes and get a tyrant with hive commander (or dump 1 prime at the very least).

Give them boneswords + lashwhips instead and drop the other upgrades. The only other upgrade I would keep is toxin sacs.

Way too little shooting. Dump the lictor and get more zoans (in pods if you want). Better yet, consider hive guards.

Way too much upgrades. If you're using 3-warrior squads, dump all upgrades except the venom canon. The only other upgrade I would consider for them are rending claws.

You should list these with the units that will be using them. Right now, which units will with which spores?


Honestly, this isn't a very good list. You've got way too many upgrades when it's almost always better to increase the number of models instead. You've got no redundancy of important units. You've got very little anti-tank shooting. Lastly, you're using not very good units such as the lictor, rippers and spore mines. Perhaps you should ask in the Tactica section of how to make a competitive Tyranid list. And the reason why I'm assuming you want a competitive list is because usually the Ard Boyz tournament is pretty competitive.

Tervigons. Nothing like another MC (troop) that is tough as nuts to kill but only worth 1 KP.
Then in the objective missions you start pooping out scoring units galore (making your 2500 point list 3000+ points with a bunch of scoring gants that have to be dealt with).

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

I usually run stealers with both upgrades because they can sprint into assault on the first turn, keeping them out of the line of fire. I kept the rippers because I use them to support the trygon. Dropped the 'Guants, because I usually lose using them. I'm much better using a stealer horde.

Here is how I see combat evolve with this list:

The stealers sprint into CC, preventing them from being shot at. The warriors, zoas, and hive tyrant hold position after position, and the stealers force all enemies off objectives.

When the time is right, Pop the trygon out inside their ranks, and pop out the rippers with him, using them to swarm into CC, keeping the enemy distracted.

While distracted, I flank with the warriors, zoas, and hive tyrant, providing me easy shooting.

Not getting this ...

3 warriors is too small a brood - 3 missiles and the whole lots gone.
Hive tyrant is too expensive - toxin sacs can make him "worse" in CC. Regen very expensive and implant attack, toxic miasma, acid blood is putting him in the 400 point area.
Parasite of mortrex has nowhere really to go - get him some gargoyles.
2 zoeys on foot and no other elite slots taken in a 2,500 point list. This is the best slot in the Nid Codex!
Stealers are good but adrenals and toxin makes them too expensive.
Trygon - again, drop the toxin sacs and regen is very expensive.
Why would you ever run a tyrannofex with fleshborer - his rupture cannon and 2 zoeys is your only ranged AV here at all.

You need hive guard, gargoyles, tervigon and less goodies in the list to make it work.

This list is going to be eaten alive. You need to stop with the upgrading and throw more bodies on the table. I could see if you were throwing upgrades on things like carnifexes but rippers?? Really? I won't tell you you have to have hive guard to win because you don't but putting anything on rippers is a waste of points you are going to need elsewhere. Part of playing nids is scaring your opponent when setting up your swarm of models. If I see someone set up rippers I'm just going to laugh and use one squad with 2 flamers to kill them all in one turn.your swarm of models.
