So I'm working on a list for Ard boyz'. I'd like to go full mech but I don't have the money or the desire for 2-3 more vehicles. Aside from this, all I have are a few more guardians, harlequins, scorpions, banshees, pathfinders, and some other odd stuff. So keep that in mind if you want to offer C&C. My 2000 is full mech, but this mainly expands on that with some guardian blob squads and vehicle upgrades. Thoughts?

In Beil-Tan High Command, plotting the destruction of the Mon-Keigh.

2 Notes i have.
1. Put the DA into one unit. (i used to use 5man squads and they got shredded)
2. The guardian warlocks should have conceal. they need those saves.
Other than that i'd say it's a solid list.

I like the list, go with it.
I disagree about the advice given though; the avengers, of course, need to stay in those 5 man squads so they can go in the holo-falcons. I will 100% find a way to get stones on the two holofalcons, or the holos will only mean your falcons will never move or shoot..... Get stones there, cause thats the main advantage of the holo-falcon with avengers, a scoring troops choice that its very difficult to stop from moving and claiming objectives (and of course hard to kill too).
I prefer embolden for your guadian footslogger too! Its not too difficult at all to find 4+ cover for them, plus you need embolden so they dont run away first time someone kills a handfull of them. I would lose one EML, form dragon serpent, down to a s. cannon and get stones for both falcons.
And then, ready to go to war. Consider scatter lasers for the guardians too, though

Those Falcons really should have Stones though. I'd downgrade the EMLs on the Dragons' Serpents to do it. They're going to be moving full blast to deliver the Dragons ASAP anyways... won't be able to fire them much.

I think you should add a few more firedragons if you have some more available. Last thing you want is your suicide squad to not get the job done. Also I recommend putting Star Engines on your waveserpents. That way you can ram for 36" but still only suffer a str8 hit because of your energy field. I also recommend trying to get a 2nd farseer as opposed to the autarch if you have 500 pts to spare. Your army is mainly bs3 so you should be guiding and dooming stuff like crazy with the 2nd farseer.
Farseers imo are the BEST HQs in the game as a support role. I recommend ditching the spears on the warlocks in the blob squads and getting rid of the vypers. Vypers are in general just terrible units, unless your giving them the double shuriken cannons.

Ok maybe i was wrong a bit with what i said about the DA's being in a 10man rather than 2X5man. I didn'realise they were going in the falcons but really do go for the conceal warlock. Yes it can be easy to find 4+ cover saves for them but when your trying to get to an objective. Conceal is really a must for those guardians. Especially seeing as if you don't, you'll be stuck in cover almost the whole time afraid that if you leave you'll be boltered to death. Plus you can still keep embolden too. Warlocks can have more than one power.

I'm not a fan of the Guardians on foot. But, if you are set on using them, you may want to think about dropping the Autarch for an Avatar.

They can't, actually. Only one (or zero) power per Warlock.

I get it, I get it, I'll get stones for the Falcons. I definitely see why you would want that. I'll drop one of the EML's for a cannon.

I originally had Conceal warlocks, but after all the times I've played with guardian blobs, it never came into use. Area terrain is great because of the better cover save than conceal, and if they were to get charged, the enemy would be assaulting through terrain. But I rarely get assaulted because of 36 shuriken catapults shot if you get in that 12 inch range. And I know it can be useful for objectives, but the scenarios for ard boyz only contain one objective mission, and I already know where all 3 are.

I don;t have any fire dragons, and to be honest, I've never needed them.
Star Engines are a waste of points in most scenarios, especially in the way you suggesting to use them, I might as well, just start the game with rear armor to the enemy.
The autarch gives me the plus 1 to reserve rolls. It's really great to stop, or perform an alpha strike, and is also a cheap HQ for the double victory point mission.
If the blob squad get's charged by something halfway decent, I'm screwed. One attack won't make a difference, but a STR 9 shooting attack can.
Vyper's aren't that bad. And 2 shuriken cannons? Nope. That's 2 weapons that I have to fire. I can't move that full 12 inches and shoot, which is the best feature of it. They're also great for contesting objectives.

17 EMLs - oh my!
I definitley like all of the fire power this list can put out - and Eldrad is one of the best support characters in the game.
and +1 for the Holo-fields on Falcons, they improve survivability for your 5 man DA squads.

That's what I was going for. And that doesn't include the 11 Melta guns and 2 Pule lasers. But anyways, the list has changed, I'm dropping one TL EML on a serpent for spirit stones on the falcons.
